These people are crooks! They replaced one half of my roof two years ago for $7,000 dollars which I paid in full and now piles of shingles have come off. I called them and the son, who put the roof on himself, said he is not legally responsible for this because his father signed the contract. They are slick and I I tend to take them to the state's attorney general.

John W. Messman Jr.
General Contractor
We hired this contractor in June 2020, to tear down our rotting back porch and roof and then build a new back porch. Messman got a subtractor to tear down the porch and roof about a week and a half later. That was around the last week of June. He has done absolutely NOTHING since then, but feed us one lie after another, as to when he would complete the project. He said it would take no more than 2 or 3 days to complete the job. First he had to finish 2 jobs which he had already started. Then, his son (his partner) had to move. Next his grandson got sick, then he got sick, then he couldn't get the lumber because of Covid and on and on. I would say he called every couple of weeks with a new excuse but always with a promise that he would be out the following week to finish. This pattern kept up until about October then, he stopped communicating at all. I had an attorney contact him in late October and inform him that he needs to give a date before winter when the work will be completed or we are taking him to court. He told the attorney that he would have the work completed in November, another lie. That is the last time we heard from him. After reading other review of this contractor, I felt so stupid because it became obvious that he is just a crook, as he has followed this same pattern on more than one occasion. We paid him half for the down payment which came out to $2400 . We want $1700 returned minus the $700 for the porch and roof removal. We are taking him to court and would never trust him again to do any work for us. He is a hustler.
