I wouldn't give J Martin Painting even 1/2 a star. He seems nice while stabbing you in the back and turning the knife. He told me that he needed to finish another project and I said I was fine with that. What I didn't know was because I was nice about it he continued to take job after job. He ended up with not only every penny our insurance company paid but because of the terrible job he did I had to pay out of pocket all of my savings. I filed a suit against him to recoup some of my funds and guess what the week before the hearing he filed for bankruptcy which meant I got nothing. IF YOU SEE THE NAME J. MARTIN PAINTING OR JONATHAN MARTIN RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN THE OTHER WAY!!!!!

John (of J. Martin Painting) was very polite and professional when he came to our home for our free in home painting estimate. Painting in our home was to begin a month and a half later (after we signed the cost contract). When mid September arrived, I hadn't heard anything, so I called and spoke to John's wife, who was also very polite, and John called me back and said he was running behind on outdoor jobs due to bad weather. He pushed my painting job back to beginning to mid October. During the second week of October, John called and said he would be able to paint in November now, as he was still busy and behind on other jobs. He reassured me that "in the worst case scenario, it would be completed by Thanksgiving." Frustrated, I agreed. Today I received a message from J Martin Painting, asking if the first full week in December would be ok to begin the job. Both my husband and I were extremely frustrated and at this point, we just wanted to cancel this whole thing and begin working with another painting company. My husband called and spoke with John. He told John that we were not ok with a December start date, seeing as we have been pushed back for three months. John told my husband that although he was sorry, he was just busy, and that's how it goes. He told my husband that other customers are waiting too, and he can't really help it. There was nothing he could do about it. My husabnd told him we wanted to cancel and he asked John for his company's Better Business Bureau ID and John started shouting that because there was not a start date in our contract, we have nothing to report. My husband told him that we felt we were being taken advantage of, and really- if he did this to all of his customers, he wouldn't be in business. John hung up on my husband mid-sentence! Is this how to run and operate what-is-supposed-to-be a professional business?

While John did at first seem polite and professional, we think otherwise now! I would tell everyone to look elsewhere! Honestly, we felt as if we were being strung along, while he scheduled in other outdoor jobs before the weather got too bad out. Who in the world is 3 months off with an estimate?
