I write this review to caution those who are contemplating using J Michael Fine Homes. When it comes time to sign a contract for plans and design please take the time to read completely the fine print and take the time to have an attorney review the contract. We were rushed by the agent and in our desire to get our project on the way we signed and provided a Design and Plan deposit of $10,000.00. The planning phase took a total of four months for the plans that should not have taken four to six weeks.
During the design and planning phase, the agent did not have a showroom where we could see what would be included in the home. This made it difficult and nailing down the features that appealed to us. As a result, the cost of the project kept going up and we had to go back to the drawing board. In the end, we could foresee that this scenario would continue playing on. We stopped the project expecting that we would get a refund or a copy of the plans. That did not happen when went to the drafter and requested copyright of the plans with a release. We were told by the draftsman that the agent had called and instructed him not to release the plans. We called the agent and were told that they would not release the plans. We expected that we would at least would have the right to the plans as we had already paid them.
I sharing this episode with you especially if you are elderly that you use caution when dealing with Fine Homes.I write this review to caution those who are contemplating using J Michael Fine Homes.
