Beware of using this contractor. I hired Jeff Beaver to remodel my home. He did not pay all of his subcontractors and caused a mechanic's lien to be filed against my home. His poor quality work and lack of builder supervision did not merit his fee; however, I paid him his full fixed fee as agreed-to in our contract. Even so, he tried to increase his fee by claiming he had done extra work. Any extra work required a written addendum to our contract and there was no addendum. He failed to honor the warranty against poor quality work and charged me, as homeowner, for repair of defective work. He was paid in full the money required to cover all of the charges from his subs, but he did not pay three of his subs and kept the money for himself. After checking 2012 Harris County Court records, I found a similar instance involving J.P. Beaver Homes, Inc. and non-payment of a subcontractor.

Jeff Beaver came recommended to us by a decorator. We were all very disappointed in his lack of professionalism and the quality of his work. While remodeling our bathroom he used subpar materials and sub par subcontractors. To quote Mr Beaver " our home was not in River Oaks and did not warrant exceptional work". That statement told the entire story. They man himself is an arrogant, untrusting,
Con man. He used funds from one job to fund the next. He also did not pay one of our subcontractors in a timely manner. He was not on the job, supervising as promised. If you see his name, cross it off your list. He cost us at least 15-20k over his initial bid to due bait and switch tactics. There are honorable contractors out there and he is not one of them!
