Founded in 1976 by James R. LeFaivre, JR Lefaivre Construction, Inc. serves Taneytown, Maryland and the surrounding areas, including Baltimore, Howard, and Carroll counties. Originally started as a summer venture while Jim was a schoolteacher, the company evolved into a full-time operation focusing on home building, additions, and residential renovations. In 1983, JR Lefaivre Construction obtained its Maryland Home Improvement License and began specializing in home improvement projects. Jim’s eldest son, Matt LeFaivre, joined the company full-time in 1996 after studying business management and design technology. Matt introduced advancements such as AutoCAD-based design and digital estimating and scheduling tools, expanding the firm’s design capabilities for new homes, additions, kitchens, and bathrooms. In 2000, JR Lefaivre Construction was recognized in Remodeling Magazine’s Big50, highlighting its position among top remodeling firms nationwide. The company maintains a turnkey approach to remodeling and residential design projects throughout central Maryland.
