I also had a bad experience with James Wellington and his partner... who is clearly running a scam. They over promise, and under deliver. They were contracted to do a full replacement of a roof on a condo building. Nothing but leaks and poor workmanship. They subbed out the work to unskilled laborers. After a few weak attempts to repair the leaks that came shortly after the full replacement, he basically stopped responding to my texts & calls. We Spent over $32k for the new roof, only having to now spend $8k+ in repairs. Do not use James Wellington, or his Partner Mike Coppola who was referred through HomeAdvisor. Both are scam artists!

J Wellington is not the person he pretends to be. James Wellington has a criminal record, for thief by deception he has rippped me off for a job I hired him to do and never came back to finish. It's been seven months now and he has stop answering his phone. James took my money and left the job undone, I had to get another contractor to come out and complete the job that he started. Which caused me double the money that he took from me. So I advise anyone who are looking for an honest contractor, please don't hire James Wellington. He will rip you off and never return. His contractor license needs to be taken away; that is if he still has any. His license was expired in March 2016, so stay away from J Wellington.

J Wellington is the worst contractor that I've ever deal with, his work is none professional, never finish the job, that he started, leaving all the work undone, plus he over charge for the work, never show back up at the place that he is doing the work at, always asking for more money, and have not done anything for the first installment that was paid to him, if you ask me I believe he and his partner are professional scam artist, he take your money and never complete the job and stop answering his phone, I been trying to get him on the phone for days, and he is not answering plus I been texting him and he never respond back.he has way over twenty some thousand dollars of my money and now he is not coming by to finish the work that he started way back in 2015 I'm about to take legal action against him ASAP I have given him all kind of breaks. so if you thinking about hiring him DON'T. If you do you will be sorry.

    to repair a repair
    $140,100

HomeAdvisor recommended J. Wellington to fix or replace a leaking roof. The salesman told me 1) I need a new porch, 2) never mind that the chimney survived Hurricane Floyd and Superstorm Sandy and numerous snowfalls, I should have it replaced, 3) never mind the payment schedule they gave me, they need money to rent equipment and buy cement. The bottom line was 1) they began work without permits from the town, 2) the jobs took three months, 3) I was charged over eighty-five thousand dollars for their tearing down and replacing the chimney, 4) despite my asking, they never game me a detailed receipt for the work done and the cost, 5) dates they gave me were not met (they told me final inspection by the town for the chimney and roof were done when they were not). After all that, their work was not up to code and failed inspection twice: the 2nd time noting "Nothing Done." Based on this I don't even know if they met the terms of the contract (relining the chimney, using the correct size rafters, installing the ice and water shield and felt paper). This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. If you want to risk repeats of this, hire them. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
