No, we most definitely would not hire Julio Almandoz, of J.A. Construction & Development!!
He was referred by a bank employee; later the employee left the bank and we were left with this person who has no regard for us, or any hurry in completing our home, by his actions. The bank employee told us he would work fast and would do great work, as he handled very big projects in the keys, we trusted her, she highly recommended him. Unfortunately the opposite is true. We are talking about a tiny house 2 bed. 3 bath home less than 1,200 square ft under air cond. from the beginning he started with delays, missed inspections, hard to get call backs and literally got lost for over a month, and not even the bank could get ahold of him. We received a letter from the Permit dept warning that our master permit was about to expire due to no permits in the past 6 months, he failed 2 inspections in one week, 1 inspection where he just did not show up. The temporary electricity is still pending permit, he failed it twice. I would not hire him, the person he has doing the permits Eduardo Torres or Anyone to do with him. We are very saddened and upset over this. We had high hopes to finish our home and this has not been the case. I hope he can complete our home it’s been over a year and 2 months and still no insulation, pending windows/doors and framing permits. We are still hoping he comes through, but we are nearing the end of our loan extension. It does not look promising. I will try to repost if he starts working again, as we are fair and only writing this review so that no one goes through what we have gone through. Building a home should not be this stressful, and cause so much anguish.
