  Bathroom build, basement renovation, dining and living room renovations

  I give Josh my strongest recommendation. Josh rescued our basement renovation from another contractor who disappeared with a fair amount of money. Since then he's renovated almost every room in my 140 year old antique house - bathroom, dining room, bedrooms, installed a new full bath in the basement, and is helping me plan out and renovate my kitchen and add a room on top of it (currently 1 story). He coordinates everything. He does meticulous work - the wainscoting and dental work in my dining room is superb. When Josh accepts a job, the work is done on time and he commits to the job - he doesn't have 5 big projects all at once - he has one big project and is on site every day. Even Saturday when the work needs to get done. He's up front about "scope creep" in projects that will impact the cost, and he coordinates everything from permits to architects to kitchen designers. The work is timely and quality work. He *won't* give you the lowest bid just to get the job and then surprise you later - he's honest and takes great pride in his work.

  We highly recommend Josh for his workmanship, detail orientation, and eye for excellent design. He did a gut renovation of our main bath, combining two rooms, knocking down walls, moving electrical and plumbing, etc. He and his team of three were all professional (electrician, plumber, junior builder) were a pleasure to work with.

  gut renovation of a first floor, kitchen design and build

  I highly recommend J. A Marble and Associates, who completed a major gut renovation of our entire first floor this past spring. He renovated two bathrooms for my sister in Winchester, and we will hire him to renovate two bathrooms for us in the next year or two.

  Josh Marble, the owner, is a master carpenter and has good relationships with subcontractors in electrical and plumbing. Josh was flexible with our planning - we were able to adjust items as needed, which is helpful when working with non traditional "city" spaces as one finds in Cambridge (as opposed to "traditional floor layouts" in the suburbs). Josh also helped us make decisions around what was worth the extra cost and what was not.

  He has a great eye for detail and has very good customer service. After the renovations were done, he came by to ask if anything needed attention. (Nothing needed attention, but its nice to have that kind of follow up).

  He is licensed and insured, and is very easy to work with. Again, I recommend him very highly, and we will likely hire him again to do several more small and large scale projects in our home.
