I do not recommend using Jackson Contracting for your home improvement and/or repair needs. In spite of working directly with the owner, the work completed was unsatisfactory at best, incomplete at worst and resulted in damage to my home. The contracted deck railing was not completely fastened, with several missing screws. Repairs made to a staircase were sloppy and dangerous with exposed bent nails and other supports not completely fastened. When asked about this, the owner Randy said he was in a hurry because it was cold outside. Part of the contract included a door, which was not provided. Instead, the contractor attached, poorly, pieces of plywood, completely fastened to the wall with no hinge and exposed nails around a mistake the contractor made when making an opening for a vent. Lastly, the contractor damaged a decorative metal covering for my outdoor bar and denied any culpability, even when abundantly clear the damage was adjacent to where he had worked. After several attempts over the course of weeks, no honest effort was made by the owner to rectify valid concerns about the work completed. Instead, I was told, an embarrassing number of times, that the contractor would be arriving soon/was on his way to address my valid concerns and refund my money for incomplete elements of the contract. These appointments were never attended. It became clear to me that my valid issues with the quality of the work were not being taken seriously and there was no interest in making things right. I was brushed off, presumably because I made the mistake of paying in full before completely inspecting the work that was completed. To this date, the contractor has ignored 2 requests from the BBB to resolve the issues and I expect to take my issues further based on the non-response from the contractor.

we signed a contract with Randy and Jolene Jackson of Jackson Contracting in February 2022 to build a roof over our back porch. they assembled subcontractors of reputable names to come to my house to review the job. we accepted Jackson Contracting proposal and that is when the problem started. he requested a certified check the day the contract was agreed to as h needed to place a hold on the lumber so pricing would be firm. he asked for $11,500 which we paid. that was the last of the direct communication with Randy. per our contract it allowed us to cancel and get our deposit back as no materials or work was ever done. we have not received any refund of the $11,500 of which only $3,500 was the amount the lumber yard asked for to hold price. since then , randy has gone to the lumber yard and taken the deposit off and took that deposit money too. I am upset at myself for not checking references or BBB and other consumer affairs outfits. please do not give any money to this company. well planed theft of money I went to the bank to borrow to do the job at my house. nice way to steal from senior citizens...
