Davie Home Repair Services
Owner
I hired James G. Davie, Jr., dba Davie's Home Improvements. I'd never recommend him to anyone, even though the BBB assigned him an A+ rating. He didn't complete the job/breached the contract (e.g., never painted the door, one coat of wall paint instead of two, substituted materials), provided some poor workmanship (e.g., rough edges on new wooden casing, sloppy patch job and no paint where sink pipe meets the wall), damaged my property (e.g., large dark stain on painted wall that can't be removed, scratches on hardwood floor), and he stole and/or damaged household and other items (e.g., heavy duty plumber's bucket that he removed from the gas hot water heater drain spout, Rubbermaid broom/bucket/corn broom). These are but a few examples of many, all of which I have very clear photos. My complaint with the State agency that governs HIC registration is currently under investigation. That complaint involves, for example, his registration under a business name different than the one that's on his web site and under which he conducts his HIC business; he did not include in the contract many items that the State requires (e.g., specific information about each contractor); he did not give me documentation about the window that he substituted; and he did not credit me amounts due me because some job items cost less than budgeted, even though he told me that he would do so during the pre-contract and contract discussions.
