I had a complete kitchen remodeling project done by James. He was always punctual and complete the remodel ahead of schedule. He was very delightful in his mannerism and had very informative insight into correcting preexisting problems that were left by the previous homeowner. I would highly recommend James to anyone.

    Bedroom and Living room remodel
    $15,000
    30 days

We hired Jamie to do the trim work in our new home. He refused to do the work as promised, even after we had already paid him to do the work. He would show up at home and have angry out burst, especially whenever I would explain to him that we needed to him to the work that we have already paid him for. We finally had to pay someone else for the work so we paid twice to have work done that he should have done himself.

    Worst Experience Ever

We were in the process of purchasing a house and Jamie came recommended by a friend to handle some of the renovations as we wanted to fix up an older home. The initial work was estimated to cost roughly $40k and we were told it would take 6 weeks. We closed on the house in October of 2014.

Weeks would go by without any communication—texts would go unresponded to, and returned calls were hit or miss. During the longest stretch of time, we didn't hear anything for 5 weeks. Jamie would show up for a few days do a marginal amount of work, then not show up for a few more weeks.

We asked for timelines in November 2014 and were told everything would be completed by mid January 2015. January comes and we've only seen a small amount of demo work. We asked for timelines again in January 2015 and were told everything would be completed by mid February, only to find by March that we still weren't even halfway done. The work completed by subcontractors was practically the only thing finished.

We moved into the house in March because we had only planned to live elsewhere for 2 months given the 6 week estimate. During this time we also found out my wife was pregnant. Nearing the end of March, we'd been living in the basement of our unfinished house for 3 weeks. Only subfloors in the kitchen and one working sink in the entire house.

After many calls about timelines, when work would be done, questions about the progress and lack of showing up to do work when promised, I had a fairly heated conversation with Jamie Bolt. He showed up the following week to finally do some work, but pointed his finger in my face, and told me to never talk to him that way again. That was the last straw—I asked him to leave my house, and I began working to find a new contractor after 5 months of attempting to have our house repaired.

Months later finding a new contractor, we're almost complete, but we're still finding shoddy work that has to be redone out of our own pocket, or requires us to live with it until we can save up enough to have it done right.

If you value excellent craftsmanship, reliable work, good communication, trustworthiness, and good value for your money I recommend you STAY AWAY from this contractor.
