I wonder, does anyone have experience with Jamey Slanton, a local plumber???
Last week, I paid him for the first bit of work $450 to clear my house's sewer drains, after an estimate of $350. He told me the remaining stoppage was after the city tap, so I paid him via CashApp. He did refund a some of it, due to the tenant being a veteran, which I appreciated.
However, after speaking with the fine folks over Public Works, it was determined that the stoppage was in fact on the property's side, and Jamey came back over. Jamey suggested that there may be a break in the line, but since the house was going to be unoccupied for the weekend, we would wait to continue woking on it, and I expressly told him that I wanted to speak to him about how much more work would be needed and know an estimate before continuing, as I did not want to be blindsided.
Regardless, Jamey came back over to the house this past weekend and "finished" the work and then texted me he needed another $400 and that he really needed the money. This was for work I had not authorized and had told him I would be back up on Wednesday (yesterday) to discuss it with him.
Just now, after paying him an additional $100 (because I in no way authorized this work and never agreed to pay him for it), he sent me a really ugly text, which I will include in the comments below.
I don't know if he has done this to anyone else - but he does make me extremely nervous...
