Jason did floors for us in our condo in downtown Columbia. His work was good. It took him a week longer than he said. When he completed that job, we asked him to paint our bathroom ceilings, repair a door and replace fans. We paid him in advance. He did not show up to do the work. We have attempted to contact him to complete the job or refund our money. As of today, it has been over six weeks and he will not return texts or phone calls. I hope that he is okay and that this is not typical work for him.

Jason Kasper was referred to us by ProSource Flooring on their list of preferred contractors. We believed that because he was on their list that he had a good track record of work history with ProSource. The original part of the job went as planned, however as things came up that needed to be fixed, redone, or repaired Jason would always say that he could do the work. Several things were added on the job and as they were completed, Jason was paid. We also bought most of the materials as needed for the work. I always asked for written estimates for any additional work and at first I got them but after a while he wouldn’t even do that. All along Jason would ask for money and we paid as the work was done, sometimes though it was quite a while before the work was done. Someone was always sick, or didn’t have transportation, etc. We had to constantly prod him along.
As we were nearing the end and because of all of the work that was done and the length of time the project has taken, when Jason asked for money to finished up a few things, my mother gave it to him. However, the project still hasn’t been finished and Jason still has materials and items that belong to us which amounts to theft, and after close inspection, things weren’t completed, painted, corrected as specified. Jason also still has our keys to the house which distresses us greatly. The front door was painted very sloppily leaving paint all over the brand new handle and lockset that I put on myself. I have spent several days finishing up what was supposed to have already been finished. Now we can’t get him on the phone. He won’t return phone calls or text and now on top of all of this a sliding glass door that he put in is leaking. Jason also recommends his “friends” for any work that he doesn’t do and I wouldn’t recommend hiring them either.
Jason was right there if he was getting paid but not so available if the repair/work would require more time and or effort. To sum up the complaint, we are out our keys, time, materials, items that are part of the house, and money.
I have asked Pam at ProSource to remove Jason Kasper’s name from their contractor list to prevent this from happening to someone else. He also does business under the name FWR Cleaning and Contracting.
