Jason Gloe Construction

We hired Jason to put on a shingle metal roof on our house on June 13th 2016. He told us it would take about two weeks so we gave Jason our down payment in cash for him to order our shingles. Our shingles got delivered in July and as soon as they got dropped in our driveway they got loaded back on to the truck and the truck left with the roofing I figured there was a mess up with the color but that wasn't the case. My money got used for something else and the check had not cleared the bank so the company had no choice but to take them back but I didn't pay by check so this would not happen. So about 2 weeks later I heard from Jason saying the roofing was going to be delivered that following Friday so I waited for the delivery so I could make sure the roofing was going to be staying so I checked the invoice and they were paid for the night before the delivery. so now we are towards the end of July almost August. So a sales rep came and gave Jason a crash lesson on how these shingles should be put on since they are not like regular shingles metal shingles have to be put on a certain way that rep was here for over an hour. Thinking that Jason was going to be putting them up boy we were wrong. He had a crew of three here and we were told he's guys knew how they went on wrong again. Jason wasn't here to show them the proper way he gave them the guide on how to do it but they were installed wrong and some were sloppy. when you pay good money for a job to be done you expect it to look wonderful this roof was not cheap. The crew threw the garbage on the side of my house because Jason did not have a dumpster brought in even thou it was in our contract that one was going to be brought over. so needless to say on top of my roof getting done sloppy and a pile of garbage sitting beside my house I was not a happy camper. My roof got finished Jason collected he's second payment before the mess was cleaned up telling us he would be here the following Friday to clean it up but that didn't happen the only time you seen Jason was when he wanted to be paid. Jason also stuck up a metal roof on our pole barn that was just a standard metal roof. He's crew got that job done with in a few days in the pouring rain, Jason asked for he's last payment and I said no not till my house roof was done the correct way not knowing how much needed to be fixed until another contractor I hired to put up new gutters took pictures for me and told me there were a lot of mistakes that needed to be corrected so I had to put that job on hold till this was finished because I didn't want my new gutters to get messed up so I contacted Jason and told him about it he stopped by and I told him what I was going to do. Told him step 1 was contacting him to correct it 2nd was contacting a lawyer and next was the state of Michigan department of licensing. He said give me a chance to fix it. That was September he said he would be back October 5th. Well no Jason no call no nothing. So I continued with my plan on making my phone calls got a hold of the state she sent letters to notify him there was a complaint against him but it took her awhile to get ahold of him finally he got the letter only took her 2 months to get ahold of him. I sent them all my paper work and pictures of my roof showing all the mistakes. So finally I heard from Jason in January 2017 he wants to get the work done so my complaint can be dropped against him. All I wanted Jason to do in September was to get up on my roof to fix the problems he must have thought I was just bluffing but when you pay for a job to get done you want it done right not half way. So now my roof is done it was finished in the middle of Feb 2017. Not like a two week job turning into a 8 month project. If it wasn't for my friends and the other contractor advising me to turn him in to the state I might not have gottin this job finished. I'm glad the lady from the state of Michigan was on my side she give me great advice and stuck with me. So now Jason is paid in full the letter got sent out to the state telling them he finally finished so now all I can do is pray my roof holds up for the next fifty years and it doesn't leak. So my experience with Jason is not very good. He is slow, dis respectful to he's clients and employees, not reliable, never is on time, He has taught me a lesson and that is to check on the next contractor that I hire to make sure they are right on top of there game. The guys who put up my new gutters did a wonderful job and showed me what they did. That was good. I'm thankful im finally finished with this night mare time to move on.

This guy is a nightmare. We hired Jason to build a screened in porch with an upper deck. He was slow, incompetent, changed plans midstream, was financially unstable, and dishonest.

1. Slow. The porch was supposed to be completed by May 31st. As a courtesy we extended the deadline to June, then July, Aug, Sept, Oct. etc. Eventually we fired Jason for non-completion in November.
2. Incompetent. We had to hire a second contractor to correct Jason’s errors. Among other issues, the porch ceiling leaked every time it rained. Jason tried three times to correct it but was never successful. Jason placed a rain gutter directly over an outlet he had the electrician install. Who does that? There are too many errors and not enough space here to mention them all.
3. Did not follow plans. The plans we originally discussed were not followed and no explanation was given for the changes. We came home to the porch ceiling being pitched directly into an existing wall of the house. It was supposed to be pitched away from the house. We still don’t understand why anyone would direct water to an existing structure instead of away from it. Again, we had to hire another contractor to fix the problem.
4. Financially unstable. Halfway through the project Jason’s insurance was cancelled for non-payment. Also, a member of his crew called us at home and asked for money. Jason told them he didn’t have the money make payroll.
5. Dishonest. Jason sent us a text saying the project was done. He said he would call the inspector and that he expected payment immediately afterward. Fortunately we took it upon ourselves to meet with the inspector, who then told us there were very serious reasons the porch would not pass inspection. Jason lied and told us that the inspector gave his work a phenomenal review.
