11/18/24 We won the court order against JB Mechanics and John Baroni. If you were taken by John or any other contractors please do see it through the processes in place so they are not able to continue taking advantage of people. Use the Attorney General, Licensing Board of their specialty, and then if still needed you can put together a 93A demand letter by researching online or working with a lawyer. which will either get them to pay within 30 days or you will be granted a court date.
The 11/12/24 update still moving through the court and licensing board to address this. We saw/met John for the first time on 11/8/24 where he declared it was completely reasonable for a family to be without a working kitchen sink for two months because... there was a bathroom down the hall! You know the one place you really want to be when dealing with kitchen duties. The clearest window into this man's soul? When not getting the reaction he was looking for after our case was heard, he passed my wife sitting near the front door of court he loudly declared my wife to be the "first female trans woman in Lynn court" a couple times loudly and then ran off showing that his maturity and character.
John was hired to do a plumbing job as part of our remodel. He cashed a check on December 6, 2021, accepting the position. When it came time to come in and do the job he kept putting off coming saying additional steps needed to be taken by our general contractor. This went on for approximately six weeks. We finally said to John to keep $500 and to return $2000 to us for the time he did spend on the job. We gave him the opportunity to create an invoice and he is now refusing.
We now are taking steps to get our money back and will be working with the local and state officials to properly document the experience we have had.

John has been my go-to plumber for more than 20 years. Friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgeable, there is nothing John can't fix. John has installed my entire home with gas & hot water heat and all the plumbing for my completely renovated home and has done bathroom and kitchen renovations. John is excellent at communication, reasonable with prices (check around) and is meticulous in his work. My boiler and all its plumbing around it is neat, organized and is more of a work of art thank just pipes. I wouldn't consider anyone else for my plumbing work.
