JC Custom Scapes

We signed contract for our backyard Scape project with JC Customs Landscape in January 2019. Jesus (Chuye) assured us and promised us the project would be completed within the contract time of 4 weeks. We paid him the deposit, advance money to buy the material and the progress payments, everything was paid within the two weeks. Work on site started on 02/08/2019, on the first day he had couple of people complete the underground work. We were impressed and assumed that the work would be completed before time. Into the second week, we saw very slow progress, there were just two guys who worked part time. We were given multiple promises on completion of the work and the date. From mid March we hardly saw anyone on the site and no work was been done. We tried reaching him on his phone, which he never picks up, text and email.
Jesus (Chuye), made numerous false promises on material delivery, confirmation on scheduled work and completion date for concrete work, irrigation, plants, and project completion time. But they never ever happened. Jesus (Chuye) failed us every time. His unrealistic promises on scheduling work on a particular day and not completing with unreasonable reasons. He NEVER, NEVER calls back and ignores all calls made.
We are currently having a horrible experience with JC Custom Scapes. Not only are we frustrated with his lack of professionalism, but the quality of his workmanship is so poor and sloppy.
We had to send him notice emails asking him to complete the project or we would be forced to take legal action against him. We gave him multiple opportunities to complete our yard work. We have had enough with JC Custom Scapes.
We feel betrayed and conned by Jesus (Chuye) and his company and hope other clients are warned by this contractor’s reputation.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU LIKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.
He is good at his craft but he is definitely not trustworthy.
He put grass on my backyard back in 2015, did a good job and I referred to him to a lot of my
neighbours and he did landscaping in a lot of houses in the neighbourhood.
This May of 2018 I called him to put pavers some artificial grass, have a connection to the gasline
and we agreed on 9300$.
He took 6000$ as an advance for materials(pavers and artificial turF) .I had no issue giving him the advance
thinking he would be trustworty because of our prior good client vendor realtionship. Despite of my numerous
messages and phone calls and a lot of fake promises the issue has not resolved.
It has been more than 100 days when he took the first check for 3000$ on May 7th 2018, the day we agreed on the final price.
He told me everything would be done in 3 weeks.
After taking the check he dissapeared and kept telling me he is waiting on the material that he ordered.
Finally on June 15th 2018 almost 40 days after he took the advance he came with his crew, connected the gas line and electric
line for the purpose of setting up a grill in futute. Put plastic sheet on the ground covered it with soil and top it off
with gravel. On June 17th he again asked for $3000 advance for ordering more material and that is the last day
I saw him in person. He never took my call after that and everytime I would call him he would text me "I will call you
back shortly". Despite of all my efforts and my being very patient all he delivered was fake promises and lot of
debri in my backyard and on the road outside my garage that I finally had to get removed through another contractor.

This whole process has brought a lot of anxiety to all my family members on top of the money loss.
