Jeff West can't be considered a custom builder. The home that he built for us is a mess. From the very beginning when the foundation was being poured there were problems as he did not give the contractor the updated drawing; the foundation was wrong and we luckily caught it when we visited the site. After that it was one mistake after another: the windows were too high, the ceiling was too low, the stairs were in backwards, the master bathroom was so small that the door he put in had to be changed. We asked for a special cement floor and he put in floor that was for a garage; we had to find a contractor to fix the floor. His response to problems was "oh I'll credit you for that" or if he fixed it then the schedule was delayed for months. When we finally moved in 6 weeks late, it was so cold in the house and we found out that he forgot to put insulation in the attic. The covered porch is unfinished with exposed footers that will need to be fixed. It took him 4 months to do the rough grade for the yard! So disappointing for a $500k home. Unfortunately, we made the final payment on it in good faith and now he won't respond to our messages. We found him to be a nice and personable man but not trustworthy and certainly not a custom builder. Caveat Emptor!
