Made an appointment to have Jeff come out to give us a quote for a full home renovation. First appointment time was missed due to his reporting he had a customer that "had a leak" and he would need to reschedule. Second appointment made for the next day. Jeff did not show up. He texted that he did get to our home, but "did not know where to go". He said he texted and called and no response. It appeared to me, Jeff answered the texts that he wanted to answer and ignored the ones that applied to whether he actually planned to show up. It is extremely difficult for me to believe that he came to the house!! We were outside working all morning. If you even drove by the house, there is NO WAY you could have missed us. On the off chance, and I mean very off chance, that we went into the house for a minute or two, I would think that Jeff would have figured out how to knock on the door, either front or back. Plus, there is no way if he showed up, that he didn't see the garage door open and walk over there to see if someone was in there.
When he asked if we wanted to reschedule for a third time, we said "no". I have an excessive amount of renovation needing to be done. There is no way I can work with a contractor who makes appointments and doesn't show up. I would not be able to tolerate a job started and then days going by with a contractor "no show" and a handful of excuses. Further and personally, I question his integrity because I just can't figure out how he says he arrived at our house, and "couldn't figure out where to go".
He stated he showed up and called and texted and got no answer, so he left. He texted near our appointment time and stated he was on his way and 15 minutes out. I replied, "K". So, he knew we were there and he knew we were waiting. There is no way we didn't see him while working outside in the front yard, or through the massive windows that overlook the drive from the house. HIs appointment time for the second scheduled appointment was 10:00 am and we were expecting and watching for him. I'll let you, the reader, draw your own conclusions regarding this. I could not recommend Jeff. After two set appointments, a professional should have kept at least one of them. -

JEFF VAN NORT BUILT COFFERED CEILINGS in my kitchen and dining room and I must say I have never been SO SATISFIED!! My ceilings look wonderful!! It has brought my kitchen to life!!...and added value to our home!!
I just moved here to S.C. and purchased a home in Lake Carolina, in the Peninsula subdivision. My husband and I met Jeff on his job at Lowes on two notch by Ryans. He was very kind and knew exactly what we wanted! He NAILED it to a tee! There were several contractors working at my home and we all marveled at his skill and his finished work!! He has 35 years of experience and I would recommend him to anyone. I am so pleased with his work...if there is something you need done in your home or wood fencing and you don't have someone you can trust to do a fantastic job... FIND JEFF!! He's the one!!
Don't hire this guy! We recently bought a home in Camden, SC. Jeffco had been contracted to demolish tile in a shower that was found upon inspection to be leaking badly, and install a new shower pan, tile and subfloor. Jeff showed up once in early September and said the shower pan the seller bought was too small, so he took the shower pan with him and said he was taking it back to Lowe's for credit and to order the right size. I had another appointment scheduled with Jeff, but he called and said his vehicle broke down and that he would be here in the afternoon. He never showed up or called. In mid October, I texted him insisting that the delay had been long enough and the work needed to be done. He got mad and said we didnt have a signed contract with him, and he would come pick up the tools he had left at our house. It was obvious that he had no intention of doing the work he had agreed to do, so I contacted my realtor and asked her if we could get another contractor. My realtor and the sellers' realtor talked to Jeff, reminding him of the agreement he made to do the repairs. He made up a ridiculous story that I had threatened him, he didn't feel safe around me, and would only come if my realtor was here as well. Then he set a date of October 28 to come start the work. On the morning of October 28, he called our realtor and told her his vehicle was broken down and would come in the afternoon. I told her I didn't believe he would show up, and of course he did not. The next day our realtor called him and asked him if he had any intention of doing this work and he said NO. In summary, Jeff wasted nearly two months of my time, forcing me to find a new contractor. Jeff is absolutely untrustworthy. He does not keep his word and has no respect for clients or the time they wait around for him to show up. I will never call him for the bathroom remodel I want to do, nor will I ever recommend him to anyone. He is the worst contractor I've ever encountered. If I could give him -5 stars, I would. Don’t bother with this guy at all!
