By Kaylyn R.October 6, 2023Dishwasher installation and haul away through Home Depot$220Read more
Short Version: Home Depot hires plumbers/electricians as appliance installers and then turns a blind eye when they attempt to commit fraud. JEG Plumbing LLC is guilty of attempting to scam customers who purchase appliance installation through Home Depot.
Longer Version: We thought paying for a Home Depot dishwasher with all the bells and whistles (adaptor kit, installation, haul away) that it would be worth the extra money because it would be one-stop-service for a property I own. I thought Home Depot was a big enough business that there would be some quality control. Unfortunately, I was wrong. First, we were given a delivery window of 12pm-4pm. Then, we get a call almost two hours early from the "installer" (JEG Plumbing LLC) who says that because their first two deliveries canceled they were already at my property. I told them the tenants could get home by 11:30am at the earliest because we weren't expecting them until 12pm as the reminder said. They claimed Home Depot called me to update me on the new times but I had no missed calls, voicemails, text messages or emails from them. It got worse once the installers arrived. Upon arriving they told us that they needed $250 in order to install a new outlet for the dishwasher to connect to. After confirming with multiple sources, including other contractors, I knew for certain that they needed to use the hardwiring to do the install. The installer refused and said he needed $250 to install a regular outlet. We declined as we immediately knew that was a scam. Then, he tinkered around under the sink for awhile (for what reason it's unclear). He became increasingly hostile, aggressive, rude, and completely unprofessional over the course of his time with my tenant at my property. I paid Home Depot for the dishwasher installation as well as for the old dishwasher to be hauled away. The installer refused to install the new dishwasher without me giving him $250 for a new completely unnecessary outlet, and then he refused to haul away the old dishwasher. Initially, he was also refusing to give us the new dishwasher. So basically, he creates an inconvenience by coming early and causing tenants to rush home, then tries to scam us with an outlet we don't need, and then refused to give us anything that I paid for! Completely outrageous and unprofessional. Then to top it off we started reading reviews from almost **two years ago that Home Depot knows about the fraud happening!!** When I called Home Depot to complain they said it was totally unacceptable for the installer to ask for more money and told me they would call me back within an hour to give me options to resolve the issue. I told them multiple times that they should never work with this contractor again. Then, I find out that other people have already informed them of being scammed by the contractor/installer and Home Depot **still employs them even when they know about the fraud!!** To say I'm disappointed in the professionalism and service of Home Depot is an understatement. I will never ever make a purchase from Home Depot again and I will tell everyone I know to beware of their installation services, and obviously JEG Plumbing LLC is a hard pass for me and everyone I know now that we know about their scamming practices.

By Anand M.October 28, 2022Install Dishwasher$350Read more
Our old dish washer went bad and we decided to buy a new dish washer. The new dishwasher arrvied. We then called JEG plumbing, LLC to have the dish washer installed. 2 guys from this company showed up to our home on October 21, 2022. They looked at the drain line and immediately advised that the drain line needs to be replaced since pipe is loose and they wanted $350 to do this work. We had some doubt about this since our old dish washer was working just fine with this line before.
Since we bought the dishwasher though Home Depot, and since we had already paid Home Depot for the installation, we wanted to call Home Depot to clarify the issue. So we requested these guys (I can call them professionals yet and you will see why), to please wait while we clarify the issue with Home Depot.
Guess what happened next?... These guys start to pack and start leaving our house while I am getting ready to make a call to Home Depot to clarify the issue!! I requested them to stay while I clarify but they didn't care and started walking out of our home, got into their vehicle and drove off! As you can understand, I was outraged at this rude and unprofessional behavior. I therefore decided to call the manager of the company to report these two rude unprofessional guys.
I got the manager of JEG Plumbing through telephone call. I then told the manager that these 2 guys just walked out on me while I was trying to obtain clarification and advised the manager to disciple these guys who clearly lacked any sense of respect for customers and they clearly did not know customer service. I also mentioned that I am going to place a bad review about JEG Plumbing. Once again to my utter surprise the response from the manager was simply "OK". She didn't care that I am going to place a bad review either! So I told her that if I were a manager of the company, and if their plumbers
walked out on me like that (while I am ready to make a phone call), they should be disciplined and told her that as a manager she should care for incidents like this.We then decided to call another company (kinHandy) on October 23. This company was prompt and they sent out a plumber immediately. This plumber was very professional. He examined our line and advised that there is nothing wrong with drain line and therefore no extra work was needed. In fact he advised that the particular line that JEG plumbing advised was faulty was NOT faulty at all and worked just fine. He went ahead and installed our new dish washer using the same plumbing line and our system continues to work like a charm. kinHandy saved us the $350 which JEG plumbing wanted to rip us
off!Moral of the story-- Please stay clear of this totally rude and unprofessional company called JEG Plumbing with office address 4409 Romlon St #104, Beltsville, MD 20705. You would have done yourself a huge favor. This company is just NOT worth dealing with. They are a total ripoff!!

By K S.September 23, 2022Fix a water valve so we could put in a washing machine
Same as everyone else. Needed a washing machine put in by Home Depot. Guys came out and said there was something wrong with our water valve. Said it was covered by Home Depot. Sent out JEG who were TOTALLY RUDE, said they couldn't fix it and I needed to hire a different plumber, that it wasn't covered by Home Depot. When I asked them to explain why they couldn't fix it, they wouldn't respond and just said to call Home Depot. DO NOT USE THEM.

Delivery guys claimed to be unable to install dishwasher and sent Jeg out days later. They arrived and claimed they did not have the additional parts and it would be too time consuming for them to pick up the proper parts for the installation and I could do it faster and they would return later that day or earlier the next morning. Must've thought I fell off turnip truck. I don't pay for services and help you as well. Contacted Home Depot delivery and found out the delivery company works with assigning plumbers not Home Depot directly. The proper parts were ordered and I asked that any other company be sent out and was told that couldn't be guaranteed because they use whomever is available. From here on out my plumbing installs will not be contracted through Home Depot if they have no knowledge of installers. Jeg is obviously a scam company

By David C.January 7, 2022Refrigerator installation$0Read more
JEG Plumbing does not even deserve one star. I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in mid-December which was delivered to my house on December 27. The delivery guys said that a plumber would have to connect a new water hose before the new refrigerator could be installed. They told me not to worry, that there would be no additional charge, and that Home Depot would have a plumber out to my house within 48 hours to install the water hose and then the refrigerator. The following Monday, after I had not been contacted by a plumber, I called Home Depot to complain. They checked with the third party contractor (JEG Plumbing) and told me that the plumber had called my call phone on December 28 (not true) and had determined that I was not home on December 31 (also not true; my wife and I both work from home and were here all day on December 31). Home Depot then promised the plumber would contact me within 48 hours. Today, nine days after the refrigerator was left in my garage by the delivery crew, two JEG Plumbing employees showed up. They connected the new water line--something that I could have done myself, not rocket science--and then left. When my wife asked if they were going to install the refrigerator, one of them replied, "That's not my job." I called Home Depot to complain, and they said absolutely the expectation is that the third party plumbers they contract out with will install refrigerators after connecting new water lines. I can't tell you how disappointing this experience has been for me. To sum up, the JEG Plumbing, LLC employee lied about calling me to set up an appointment, lied about no one being home on December 31, and then opted not to do the work they were contracted to do. In retrospect it may be best that they did not install the refrigerator, because they probably would have screwed it up. is incompetent, cannot be trusted to do decent work, and should be avoided at all cost. I will post daily to make sure the message reaches the widest audience possible. I will also write a letter tomorrow to Home Depot detailing the experience and demanding that they drop JEG Plumbing from their list of third party contractors immediately. They can and should do better.Be forwarned--and trust me, I will Home Depot is hearing from me on the perils of picking shady third party contractors--steer clear of JEG Plumbing LLC. Unless you like wasting time and money.

By DouglasDecember 10, 2021Home Depot Contractor to replace gas range
My story sound like so many others. JEG show up and after removing the gas range they were replacing for Home Depot, they say that cannot reinstall the new one without replacing the gas valve. There was nothing wrong with the existing valve..it shut off the gas and showed no signs of leaking. The installer, Jose, said it would be a $100.00 charge but after finishing up, I was charged $312.00 and given a receipt that show very little information. When I confronted Jose, he lied and said he did not say it would be $100.00.
When calling the main office, and waiting a day to be called back, I called again. Carlos said the charge for a gas valve was $312.00. The valve they used was a Home Depot model which cost $9.50 and it too about 3 minutes.
This is truly a dishonest Company and I wonder why HD would uses someone like this
I plan to give them at least $312.00 worth of advertising.
Avoid these Guys and call a reputable Company! -
By Hemnath S.December 3, 2021Dishwasher reinstall$350
Home Depot installers connected the plumbing part but left the dishwasher Uninstalled due to lack of knowledge. JEG Plumbing was summoned by HD and the guy told my wife to pay an additional $350 to install new water supply lines. Threatened her to send pics of too small of piping to HD. They never sent pics but reported to HD of having to install 2 new shutoff valves as we do not have one dedicated for the Dishwasher. I am going through BBB inquiry currently against HD. DO NOT BUY FROM HOME DEPOT OR JEG PLUMBING. LLC. SCAMMERS.

By P F.August 28, 2021Dishwasher install$260
Home Depot appliance installation in this area is a complete and total scam. We ordered a dishwasher and paid for installation. A week later the truck shows up with a couple of guys and after 30 seconds under the sink they tell me the valve is leaking and they can't install it. It wasn't leaking before they arrived and it wasn't leaking after or we'd have water under the sink, but hey, let's not let truth interfere with a good scam. Don't worry, they say, HD will call a plumber to install the dishwasher and it's covered by the install fee. After a week and daily calls to the "appliance hotline" the JEG plumber shows up. You guessed it - 10 seconds under the sink and he says the valve is difficult to turn and needs to be replaced. Not covered by HD so we'll have to pay the $260. $260 to replace a simple valve and 5 minutes of labor? Insane. Turns out, JEG plumbing, who charged us this ridiculous fee for a simple job, has a host of reviews about exactly this scam. If I had known it was this company, I'd have found my own. I make the scammers leave the valve and, you guessed it again, a legit plumber told me it was perfectly fine. The HD guys know all about this scam but don't care. Cash or check only? Great idea so consumers can't use any of the card protection.

By Elizabeth O.July 20, 2021washer/dryer$400
JEG Plumbing, contractor for Home Depot, creates unnecessary work to gouge customers and charge a fortune for that work, ignoring the money I paid to Home Depot for installation of my washer. They call themselves "Home Depot plumbers" and showed up to my house unannounced after their appliance delivery man refused to install my washer without $400 of plumbing work. The work took only 20 minutes max and they charged me much more than quoted and then said they would add a 4% fee! The sympathetic Home Depot managers locally said they couldn't do anything about the unprofessional, fraudulent contractors that this company uses and the main Home Depot representatives I spoke to literally hung up on me, I presume because this was a tough problem (it wasn't an adversarial conversation at all). STAY AWAY FROM JEG PLUMBING, they're fraudsters!

By Steve C.May 28, 2021Connect fridge to water line, sent by Home Depot$200
I had exactly same story as J.L had mention, this guys make unnecessary work and charge $200 . They refuse to hook up to water line unless I pay for it. They claim they were sent in by Home Depot and will be no charge since I already paid . STAY AWAY FROM THIS CO. , it’s a scam.

By LnFebruary 27, 2021leaking pipes
I called JEG Plumbing on short notice, having an emergency water leak in my house. Rudy and his crew arrived in about an hour and fixed everything the same evening. A cost was reasonable and there were no additional trip charges, like many contractors do these times.
I will certainly use JEG services again. -
By J. L.February 12, 2021Simple drain line shut off
Bottom line up front: stay away from this company if possible. Home Depot sent this company to hook up the water line to our new refrigerator. HD said explicitly there would be no additional charge for install since we had paid for the service at the time of purchase. Of course, first thing JEG says it will need to charge extra for intallation of a copper line. Technicians could not give a price estimate even though they do this work everyday. When we argued with them about the installation charge, they simply walked out of my house without a word. I have witnessed bad customer service before, but this one takes the cake. Do yourself a favor and don't pay for installation for HD appliances, just go ahead and hire a REPUTABLE plumber to do the work. JEG is NOT that company. Nobody I know will ever do business with this company if I can help it. This "service" is a racket. Be wary of the upcharge.

We hired installers and clowns showed up.
This horrible company was contracted by HomeDepot to install a gas Dryer.
Upon arrival the team of three which consisted of one greasey man, one smelly man, and one man high as a kite tried to gouge me for $250 for an “additional installation item” though this should have been covered by the money I paid HomeDepot.
I called HomeDepot and explained to them what was going on, HD stated that JEG should not be requesting additional payment.
If you get a call from this company for any type of installation, cancel the appointent and have HomeDepot send someone else.
The most sketch part of when they wanted me to pay their $250 via credit card by calling a number that was NOT in my area code and give them my credit card info over the phone.
lol this company is joke and should be avoided at all costs.
