    In my many decades of life, this was the single worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. Replacing the roof of our Manhattan condo building was supposed to take three months...but took 16. Our Managing Agent said they would never use Jepol again for any of their buildings.

    We hired JEPOL on several occasions for some substantial projects.The first time was 2009-2010, to replace our building's entire granite sidewalk and steelplate - budget around $130k total. This project was right after another contractor had finished replacing our building facade - a major 3 year project. They began as soon as the scaffolding came down. JEPOL was chosen on the recommnedation of the same architect/engineer - FSI.JEPOL was very professional and thoughtful, their foreman was very amicable and they have a good attitude and want to please their client - and did a very good job - following all the engineer's specs, chnage-orders, etc..Though I had to keep an eye on some asthetic details, like when adding brass handrails, the supports had to be revisited and fixed - three times. But when asked to return to fix something that broke, or didn't look right, they did it - you just need to give them precise directions.They were quite generous sometimes, as we subsequently asked them to paint our sidewalk vault rooms subsequent to the sidewalk replacement - boiler room, meter room and electrical - which after submitting a separate proposal, we had to scale back for budget reasons. But they went ahead and did it all anyway, at no extra charge. Probably because they had already made so much and had the workers there.We later hired them for repair work on the roof, several times for different items - related to stopping leaks - covering a portion and updating old flashing, etc., and years later to repaint the sidewalk steel-plate more than once as a general maintence.The 2014 project you refer to, I think was encasing our roof's watertank sprinkler bulkhead with aluminum siding. And doing a full roof water test, to track down leaks. That turned out well.In my opinion, they are mostly suited for big projects - well over $10k.Coincidently, JEPOL just declined to submit a quote to repaint the sidewalk steel-plate (rust issues) again. My take is, they are busy on bigger projects, as the economy now is very different from when we first hired them. I'm disappointed at their refusal, actually.
