This guy is still committing fraud all around Boston. When I hired him he was going by Jerry Gagnon (aka Jeremiah Gagnon, Jerry McNaulty, Dan Cook)and doing business as Build Me Up. I paid him to do a kitchen remodel in the Fall of 2018 (payments were for labor, appliances, cabinets and counter tops totaling approximately $15,000) I have received none of the goods I paid for and a lot of empty promises that I will be receiving a check via certified mail (it has been 10 business day and shockingly nothing has appeared in my mail box). He is still using all the same excuses others have mentioned from years ago - my favorite was that his painter got bite by a spider and needed a hand operation - second favorite was that he was in the E/R due to a stroke. He is a great conman obviously he has been doing it for a long time it seems.

My wife and I were in need of a complete bathroom remodel. We met with 3 contractors and received there estimates. We chose Jeremiah and we could not have had a more positive experience. Quality of work, overall cleanliness of our house during construction, his subs were all very nice and did a professional job. My wife made a few changes as the project was being completed and there was no issues. Overall a very positive experience and we highly recommend Home remodeler group!!!f

By AnonymousMarch 15, 2015Roommate120 daysJeremiah Gagnon is a THIEF
Jeremiah Gagnon is a thief and a con man. He will rob you blind, if you interact with him. He was my roommate. He stole my credit cards and went on a shopping spree using my name. There is a lot more to this story, but I won't get into the details here. So far, I have been able to get him to plead guilty to fraudulently using one of my credit cards. The docket number is 1407CR1513 in Dorchester district court.

I was scammed by Jeremiah Gagnon too. He told me his name was Dan Cook and that Jeremiah was the owner of the company. I wrote him a check, he cashed it, gone. From what I've gathered from a few phone calls, this guy's scam has cost Bostonians 10's of thousands of dollars combined. BEWARE! This guy is a fake!! If he has stolen from you please file a police report! It doesn't take long.

It has been 12 days since the original review. Jeremiah left a voicemail apologizing on Friday 11/14 stating that his business partner, Victor Cerequiera, stole money from him and this is why he was unable to complete the job and deliver the materials. He said that he would deliver the materials that the client paid for, or a refund for the labor and materials that were already paid for on Monday, and he would make things right. Monday came and went as did several more days when a text message from his "mother" saying that he was in the hospital and that is why he could not pay on time. The "mother" asked for an address for the payment to be mailed to and that it would go out the following day. Several more days went by, more text messages and phone calls not returned. Jeremiah then reached out and said that he was at home resting in Pittsfield with his parents and that the check was sent via bill pay and would send a receipt of the payment when his "father got home".
Another day went by and no receipt of a bill pay transfer came and Jeremiah mentioned that the money will be here tomorrow now. At the same time he has reached out to me today saying that his lawyer will be in touch tomorrow if the reviews were not removed from yelp by 3pm.
I anticipate a call from his "lawyer" so that I can bring them up to speed with what has happened and how this situation has turned out- in addition to introducing them to the demand letter that will be coming from my client and his attorney, as well we my attorney and myself for monetary damages to my reputation with this client which has directly damaged the relationship that I built with this client overt the course of several months.
Another individual that was scammed by Jeremiah reached out to me on my website - see attached photo

I am a licensed real estate agent in Boston that recently represented a buyer in the sale of a high-end luxury condo at 45 Province St. The buyer is a Chinese investor that sent his assistant here to coordinate the sale, renovation, and furnishing of the home. After the sale renovations were requested by the client that included closing a door opening and creating a new door to the left, very minimal work for a licensed contractor. I created a profile on the home improvement site Thumbtack.com with information about the request, photos, and a description. Several recommended and licensed professional responded with quotes and a short description of the work and service they can provide. One of those that the client selected was Home Remodeler Group, run by Jeremiah Gagnon and Victor Cerqueira. A contract and quote was provided with work being done for the agreed upon price of $7500. In an effort to get the contractor to work quickly and professionally, the client paid in full prior to work starting.Work began and on a good day the team worked 4 or 5 hours, starting around mid morning and taking off just after lunch time. Many times the client would check in to the progress and the workers were nowhere to be found. Several days of this went by and when the client questioned Jeremiah, he responded with an unacceptable excuse that one worker was at the hospital with his wife and the other could only see his kids that day, so that is why they were not there.
Both the client and I tolerated this, while staying stern with the contractor, in an effort to complete the renovations for the high-end client. Unknown to me, Jeremiah texted the client directly (who does not comprehend English very well) and requested an additional $2500, in a check made out to him personally.
The client delivered a check to the contractor the next morning, now bringing the total to $9,500 for the work- an incredibly high amount to close a cased opening and created a new door.
The following day a painter was in the unit painting baseboard, but there was still work to be completed including the installation of door hardware and reinstalling the hardwood flooring that was removed. The painter was the last person that anyone saw in the unit and the contractor has been unresponsive to emails, phone calls, and text messages both from myself and the client for nearly 2 weeks.
When logging back into the website Thumbtack.com with my client to leave feedback on our experience, Jeremiah and Home Remodeler Group deleted their profile with all of their reviews and history, in an effort to avoid negative feedback- which is the next logical step after misleading a foreign client and making out with a pocket full of cash.

We hired Jerry to repaint a wall in our basement and replace two screen doors. He did a horrible job, claimed multiple times he would fix it, failed to properly fix it and never refunded any of our money. For instance, he installed a screen door that doesn’t close properly and without any kind of catch so every time the wind catches the door it flings open and breaks the outdoor light that’s mounted on the outside of the house. That was never an issue with the old door. First Jerry tried to tell us the light wasn’t his fault, then he tried to tell us there was no way to have a door that didn’t do that. He does terrible work, clearly does not know what he’s doing, and has no problem taking your money and not doing the job. Do not work with him.
