I just hired Jesus Hueta to (1) plaster patch an interior wall around a newly installed water line for an ice maker, (2) to hang a small bathroom mirror, remove a towel bar and hang a towel ring in it's place, and (3) do an exterior stucco patch around a new electrical panel.
I was satisfied with the interior work but the exterior work was disasterous. The first problem occurred when his "brown coat" work didn't pass the city code inspection. Everything went down hill from there. He had to bring his work up to code, complaining all the while indicating that he didni't think his work was a problem.
His stucco work was terrible. The texture wasn't even close to the "lace" texture that he promised to match. The patch was lumpy with hills and valleys that had sunk in in various areas. He did not "feather" the edges so there was a clear line between the old and new stucco. I had a painting company come to bid a job after he left and they couldn't believe the unprofessional looking job he had done. They said they had never seen such terrible work. Now I will have to have this new painting company fix the mistakes Jesus left behind.
When I saw his results, I just wanted him off my property because I found him to be argumentative when I asked him to clean up after himself and full of excuses when the plaster patch turned out to be industry sub-standard.
