Hired to refinish inside of our house. Was nice in the beginning til he gets your first check. His workers do good when they have materials, but he was hired to do a job for over 50,000 and probably has only used 1500 of that on getting the stuff for the job. He’s already past contract date, and doesn’t ever answer his phone after you give him his first check. Gives you nothing but empty promises. Horrible contractor. Paid second check of 17,000 dollars two and a half weeks ago bc he needed the money quick to finish the job. All he has brought out is one five gallon bucket of primer in that time frame. Wish I’d knew then what I know now I regret hiring him everyday.

JL Contracting is the worst contractor around. Hired him to do a roof and cut down two large trees.
My story is similar to the first review. Jim stresses how great a Christian he is, almost cried when my wife and I sat down with him to say how unhappy we were with the lack of progress just on the tree. He promised, promised to have it done and get the roof started right after Labor Day (he was supposed to start on July 20th)
The guys that he had to cut the trees while nice, had no clue what to do, and didn't have the right equipment to do the job. They were also on drugs most of the time.
One climber, way past his prime, topped the first tree, right smack on top of the fence. Then the whole crew left with the tree still halfway out in the road. My wife and I had to clean it up ourselves. I'm 60 and my wife is 55 and we are better workers than the 20 year olds he hires.
Crew would say they were coming and not show up for a several days, work half a day and then be gone for days. Took over two months to almost finish the tree cutting as 8 months later they still haven't completely cleaned up. I also had to supply the vehicle to haul the tree to the field for burning and they used my chainsaws since the ones they had sucked.
The third climber he hired was awesome but the ground crew never showed up so I had to be his ground crew for a day. We got more done in that day the was done in the previous month and half.
However the worse thing is, Jim cashed my upfront check for half the roof and never showed up. So I am out $3900, got a leaking roof and a broken fence. He will not return phone calls or texts.
I contacted the Attorney General's office and they couldn't get anything from him either.
Stay far far away.
