We did not work directly with them, instead we were the purchasers of 24 Jackson Road (the unit for which they are the permit listers of the add-on bathroom). 1 year after their work is completed, we now have to pay someone else $6300 dollars to jackhammer through concrete in our basement to fix what they not only did wrong (installed a backflow valve broken which caused the toilet to clog and bathtub to flood) but ALSO did not do to building code: the valve was installed BELOW several inches of concrete instead of at an access point, and so there is no way to have anyone fix the problem without a massive bill. Of course there is no recourse for us as the homeowners except for bad reviews, but $6300 is worth at least one angry Internet comment.

Plumbers in Boston often don't charge by the hour but give some job-specific estimate which is only tangentially related to the amount of work being performed. This plumber gave an estimate far above 10k for doing some gas work and sewage rerouting. He then offered to charge 400 an hour for two guys. So I took that. The next day these people show up and demolish the existing lines and then I am told that the hourly option is off and I am supposed to pay 6000 just for two gas lines. When I refused they left. Fortunately, i found someone else but I cannot recommend this company.
