He's a great architect and designer. He outsource all this work, it's expensive and we didn't know. It tripled our budget. End results are good quality. Everyone started out very well, but they drag and drag and it's on you because it's hard to get them to work since you already have a contract with them. I would use him for architect but I won't use some of his crew.

I don't recommend JLS at all. Extremely slow and non-responsive designer at times. Taken us over 3 years and still I don't have a new building permit or sewer connection permit.

I hired JLS Designs to do the drawings and file for our Building Permit for this renovation. This is a good firm, they pay attention to detail and have a clear understanding of presenting a job for Board Approval and for filing with the DOB. I would certainly recommend them.

JLS got the job done for me relatively quickly and without much hassle. They were used primarily as expeditors and as an engineers to double check, marry and sign off on plans of others. So mine was a pretty limited view. They were supervised by very experienced contractors, architects, engineers and designers at every step. That being said both the building dept and my co-op's architect never made us change anything. So that's a win.
