Here is my opinion and my experience with Jaime "Jimmy" Marrero - JM Drafting & Contracting, LLC
JMDC took our money but didn't finish the project. After not hearing from them for two weeks I contacted the attorney general because I couldn't take the dishonesty anymore. They claimed this was a breach of contract and terminated it. However, the contract states if JMDC cancels we get money back for work uncompleted. We paid $191k and owed 1k upon completion. Multiple subcontractors told me the company owed them money and we got a letter from a loan company stating JMDC wasnt paying their loan back. Whenever I spoke up about concerns I was told to trust the "project manager" who told me multiple times he could build my whole house yet never did any work at the house. Didn't come to check the work and failed multiple inspections wasting months of time. Our original completion date was January 10 2023 yet come October 2023 we didn't have HVAC, floors, doors, trim, and our overhang and deck were started but not finished.
I fully regret hiring this company that lies, never takes accountability, and thinks because they have good reviews that means they haven't wronged any clients.
I told JMDC I wasnt comfortable giving so much money and how could I know they would finish the project when I only owe 1k. THEIR ANSWER: they wouldnt want bad reviews.
Well, here are the bad reviews on every site i can find (and I will keep going until the settlement that his lawyer claims they wanted to talk about in December 2023, has been made).
BOTTOM LINE: We paid for work to be done and it wasnt done. I dont care who delayed what (which, why would we delay our own project? why would i just give so much of my money and then not decide anything? its not adding up.) We paid and the work wasnt done.
