I hired JM Contracting to install new tiles in the guest bathroom (upstairs) and grouting and caulking for the master bath and kitchen (counter top). The process took 2 days to complete. After the contractors (Joe & Jose) ended their work for the 1st day, they instructed me not to use the bathrooms overnight as the tiles needed time to dry. I returned home that night and found water pouring from the ceiling, walls and light fixtures. The contractors had negligently left the guest bathroom sink counter loosely attached which collapsed and caused water to flow through the newly cemented tiles into the kitchen and the entrance (2 flights below the bathrooms). They apologized but stated that the tilling did not need to be redone as it had enough time (3-4 hours) to dry/set in. In addition, the contractors provided a ‘punch list’ of items that needed attention for example, they claimed that the toilet was loose and should be ‘reset’. I checked, however the toilet seemed fine. They went ahead and “fixed” it before I realized they were doing this. I was charged $2,000 for the entire job, which after inquiring around; I found that I was severely overcharged. Furthermore, the contractor promised to return on Monday to complete two more tasks that were already paid for; 1) fixing a light fixture 2) re-caulking the kitchen counter top. The contractors did not show up on Monday. I called the contractor that evening, who was not apologetic at all but agreed to reschedule for Saturday at 10:30am. He did not show up again on Saturday. I called and left several voice mails but he did not returned my calls. I also recently noticed water accumulation in the basement near the water heater, which has never, happen before. Overall, I am disappointed with the quality of work performed and the contractor's unprofessional conduct of missing 2 appointments without giving any notice. I would not recommend using their services.
