I’ve been in the property management business for over 30 years that I’ve dealt with many contractors during that time. I hired JMK due to their positive reviews for my remodeling of my Miami Beach apartment. As this was a job that would involve tearing out the kitchen and bathrooms we decided to leave the apartment while the work was done. It was estimated the work WOULD be done in three months.
We left to go to Europe. Two months after the contract was signed, while we are still away hoping the project would be nearly halfway complete, we get an email from Jmk saying they’re canceling the contract!!!
They did no work. Hired no subcontractors and did not even process my permit. The reason for canceling, according to the email was Covid. However, when we signed the contract we were in the height of the Covid pandemic. So this was a ridiculous excuse. I’ve heard of no other contractor canceling a major job because of the Covid pandemic.
We experienced a lot of expenses and damages including the packing up of our apartment and moving it all into storage disposing of furniture in anticipation of a new apartment hotel expenses while we were out for three months etc. JMK refuseD to reimburse us for any of our expenses.
I have never had an experience anything like this in my three decades of property management. What they did was outrageous, unprofessional and harmful and I would give them a -5 star review if that was an option. I can clearly say this was the worst contracting experience I’ve had in my life. It was a nightmare. We came home to an empty apartment with nothing done!!!
Moreover they threatened us if we ever wrote a bad review. This is how the mafia operates and intimidates.
