I had a large, nearly 40 year old in ground pool to be removed, chose Joe McGrady Excavating for the job and am very thankful I did. I knew nothing about pool demolition and really dreaded this project, but Joe, Pam and the entire crew were prompt, professional, organized, careful and above all always very kind and courteous. I really appreciated the fact that they kept me informed as to what they would be doing and when they were coming to do it. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again. Indeed, they would be the only one I would call.

I hired Joe McGrady to completely remove a large in-ground pool at my home. I could not be happier with their work and I wish that every contractor I hire would be as conscientious and professional as they were.

Joe & Pam did a tremendous job removing our old and solid pool. Price was affordable (should have called them sooner!). Work was incredibly fast and professionally. If you have a pool needing removal, don't wait. Just call Joe McGrady Excavating and get it taken care of. Pool ended up being solid-block construction (older home). That proved no obstacle for Joe & his crew. In a few hours, the pool was gone. It would have taken me a week, even with help. He has the equipment, the knowledge, and the experience you need, for a price you can afford. Couldn't be happier!

We had an in-ground concrete pool we wanted to get rid of. We contacted Joe McGrady to get a quote. Pam got back to us promptly to schedule a time to visit our property for a look. We got quotes for both filling in the pool and complete removal. We decided to go with the complete removal. Pam responded to my inquiries and questions in a very timely manner. That helped with our decision-making and sped the project along.

One thing to consider is whether your property allows the larger equipment to be used. We were fortunate that our property allowed good access to the backyard where the pool was. My understanding is that if they have to use smaller equipment, it would take longer and therefore increase the cost.

I had requested a specific day of the week to start the demolition. Pam and Joe were able to accommodate our schedule. Right on the edge of the pool deck was a hibiscus and a rose shrub. There were also palm trees around the deck. Those could not be saved, since their roots would be so embedded under the deck. I asked whether the rose and hibiscus could be saved. The worker operating the excavator was very skillful and managed to remove the concrete slab right at the edge of those shrubs without harming them.

We love our “new” backyard and are having fun making plans for it. Joe and Pam did the job right and more quickly than we expected.

We had our pool filled in recently. We highly recommend this company! When you first meet Joe and Pam you get the feeling they have done this type work before. You want someone who has had experience doing the job. This is the company you want. They were always on time, very professional, got the job done when they promised plus cleaned up the work area. We had our pool removed in January 2014. After working with Joe and Pam, I very, very strongly recommend them. They are the most professional contractor we've ever been associated with. They started off with a visit to the site, and we discussed the options, breaking up the pool and removing the concrete, which we choose or filling in the existing shell; removal of the screen enclosure; and sod or leaving the area graded and ready for me to landscape.
They answered all of my questions. At every point, they did everything they said that they were going to do. They were on time for every appointment, and always kept me up to date on the schedule. They finished quicker than I'd expect, and were on top of every detail including permitting through inspection, to the final release of liens. I was never disappointed with the work, or the relationship. If I ever have a need for excavation work, I would not consider another company.

I used this in late 2013 and I was very happy. Honest, kind, fair, and great work. They know what they are doing and I couldn't have asked for a more professional company to deal with. I used them to fill in a pool and will do it with a second home as well so I highly recommend them. Thanks Joe & Pam.

I am a general contractor in the Sarasota area, and have many subcontractors that I use on a regular basis. I had the opportunity to do a project in the Orlando area. I did not know anyone in the Orlando area to do the excavation, forming, and rebar installation for that phase of my project. I was given his name by a local gunnite company. So I had to cross my fingers that that I had made a wise decision. When Joe and his crew arrived early on my project, and helped the concrete cutting contractor that was ill prepared to do their phase of the project. He helped them remove the concrete with his equipment, and did not charge me or the concrete cutting contractor for the additional labor. He said that I do not mind helping anyone. I may need that favor one day myself. And I would expect the same favor returned. His crew was very professional, and completed their phase of the project flawlessly. If I have similar projects within 100 miles of the Orlando area, McGrady Excavation will be the contractor, without hesitation.

Terrific people to work with, they treat you like family. The whole process was very professional and the work done was excellent. They took care of all the necessary paperwork and kept us well informed about the process. I would definitely recommend them.
