Over the course of the last 2 years my wife and I had been getting quotes to replace 5 large windows in our Florida room, 3 windows on our back porch, 2 small windows in the spare bed room as well as our front and back doors. Due to several issues with the requirements of our condo association and due to the unusual size of our back door several companies flat out turned the job down. The other window companies ( some are the larger window companies that you see every day on tv commercials ) that we contacted stated that they would not be able to handle the entire job and we would have to have a separate company deal with some masonry work on the outside of the condo and/or hire an electrician to take care of some electrical work.
My wife and I put off choosing a company due to the stress of finding a reputable company/companies that could meet our needs and at the same time stay within our budget. Fortunately for us a friend who just had some windows replaced recommended John Dwyer Construction.
Instead of replacing our kick wall and the windows we decided to remove the wall and put in large impact sliding doors . The outcome is AMAZING and words can't describe the transformation of our home due to the incredible view that we now have.
As I mentioned earlier we had previously gotten quotes from big name window companies that did not have an answer for our unusual sized back door as well as decorative masonry pieces on the outside of the condo. John Dwyer Construction had no problem replacing the door with a impact door which offers a excellent view. As far as the masonry pieces were concerned they simply built around them and it was never an issue. The electrical work was handle through John Dwyer Construction. My wife and I were amazed that some companies shied away from the project due to masonry work and the door while others made it seem that the task would almost be impossible. John Dwyer Construction handled everything effortlessly and we only need to deal with 1 company.
When the windows were installed and we had such a phenomenal view my wife and I realized that we wanted to have some interior work done on the condo as well. We had our Florida room and the back porch re-tiled, added insulation to the home and had the remaining walls in our 2 rooms drywalled and painted as well as the addition of base boards and crown molding. We also wanted to retract a wall to open up the view of our lake from the kitchen and living room.
Unfortunately John Dwyer Construction stated that the wall could not be retracted because it was a load bearing wall. Mike recommended cutting out some of the hollow blocks and trimming out what appears to be another large window in the wall. The outcome was stellar and improved not only our view but also the amount of light that enters our condo from the north. At the end of the day John Dwyer Construction completed our project and exceeded our expectations with impeccable professionalism, timeliness, cleanliness and exceptional customer service at a fair price.
I would like to thank Doug, Mike, Rick, Cody, Erik and everyone else who worked our project. The transformation is unbelievable, as a matter of fact I now spend as much time as possible sitting in the Florida room while relishing the view. Moving forward if we ever need work of any sort completed John Dwyer Construction is our go to! I ABSOLUTELY recommend them to everyone.
If you are in the market for new windows/doors etc... or simply need work done in or around your home or business do yourself a favor and contact John Dwyer Construction for a quote. -

We had three sliders and six windows installed. We were impressed not by the outstanding quality of their work but also the coordination of the installation team. The team members were very friendly and kept us informed about their installation process. We also highly appreciated their cleanliness during actual construction and at the end of the project. We highly this company for window installation.

By Brenda B.July 10, 2019Replace 14 window and 3 doors with impact resistant ones
I had 16 hurricane impact windows, 3 impact entry doors, and an exterior wall rebuilt and could not ever be happier!! Every time I walk by that now solid wall in my was breezeway I am in disbelief how I lived with air coming thru those old Miami windows, lol. And now, I have a real house.. all beautiful solid windows and doors. Doug handled everything wonderfully, made sure all was done correctly and huge thanks to Mike, George, Cody, Rick, Tommy for all the work they did. They were the best! Also a big thanks to John Dwyer to attending immediately to a concern I had, and that was only one. I am 100% satisfied with the job done.

We purchased 10 hurricane-resistant replacement windows. The company's representatives were very straightforward in answering questions about the cost and timeline for installation - which were met as promised. We are quite satisfied with the windows and with the workers who installed them. They were courteous, careful with our home and furnishings, and thorough in their completion of the job, as well as the cleanup.

By Debbie H.July 24, 2018Window and Door replacement
John Dwyer Construction, from the St. Pete area, was the contractor that installed the windows and balcony french doors I ordered from Doug, Window Company of America on Anna Maria Island. Both partners worked seamlessly to handle the ordering and installation of the large, heavy windows on the 3rd floor of our home and the balcony doors on the 2nd floor using a large lift. They handled the communication and the install carefully and professionally with attention to detail, and within the budget/estimate. They also helped uncover why the old window installation resulted in the leaks I experienced and took extra precaution to avoid the problem with the new install. They also helped organize replacement of custom decorative exterior molding. I would use this Window Co and Construction Company again and would refer them to my friends.

We just had windows and a front door and slider installed by John Dwyer construction. The job was started when they said it would be and done in a timely manner. Everyone who worked in our home was extremely polite and very considerate. We want to say a special thank you to George and Erik who went above and beyond. We are very satisfied with the entire job.
