  What a sad experience. When they quoted the job they seemed to know their craft. On Day one, the sidewalk looked uneven but they insisted it was correct. On the first rain storm, my neighbors were knocking on my door complaining about new water issues in their basement caused by water note running down the sidewalk. They lied about the timeframe. I was told it would be a week. It turned out to be a month. They promised to leave the parking lot useable in the meantime but it was rocky and filled with broken glass. When we complained about water pooling on the sidewalk, they agreed to responsibility if anyone got hurt. Very poor quality overall. In all honesty, would have rather paid double for a job done right.

  Concrete and pavers

  John H. Construction replaced my curb, sidewalk, and driveway in Fort Lee. The price was very reasonable, and the work came out great. They removed my blacktop driveway and replaced it with pavers. I park my wife's car and my pick-up in the driveway and none of the pavers have settled yet and it has been 3 years. I have met my share of contractors in the day and let me say John H. Construction are gentlemen and honest.

  John H Construction promised the world, but their work was shoddy, at best. When you call the owner, you have to leave a voice message. If they call you back, they tell you they will come and see the problem, but they never show up. I paid $6,000, in cash, to have concrete poured in my backyard. I now have a big puddle in the middle of the yard and the concrete is cracking. They broke my fence and have yet to come back, it's been 10 months. DO NOT USE JOHN H CONSTRUCTION.

  Sidewalk & Curb replacement

  Botched Cement Work

  John H Construction , did not perform the proper work on a replacement of sidewalk & curb on my property done in September of 2014. In January 2015 4 months into the work having been completed the cement started cracking due to failure of putting expansion joints in the cement. Tried to have the contractor respond to phone calls left on his answering machine with no results. John H Construction finally contacted me after a month of leaving messages on a answering machine. A conversation about the work his company did on my property occurred and he verbally said he would fix the sidewalk and curb. In April of 2015 we find out that John H Construction never closed the permit, for the job. An inspector from the town of North Bergen failed the work that was done. I recommend that you not use this company for any work . They collected their amount that was charged and now do not want to fulfill their obligation to fix the failed cement work on my property.
