  I hired this contractor in May 2012 to put in new kitchen cabinets, dishwasher and microwave. I gave him a down payment to purchase the cabinets as I was purchasing everything else. He said it would be July or August when he would start. In August I started calling him. First excuse was the cabinets came in but they were damaged and had to send them all back. Second excuse was his dad was in the hospital in Tennessee and he was driving back and forth. I called the cabinet company and they said he has not placed an order with them since December 2011. He never placed the order. He even had the nerve to tell me he didn't have my money anymore, he spent it on another job. He said he would give me my money back but it would have to be in installments. I told him I didn't give him the deposit in installments, I should be able to get my deposit back in full. I told him the money should have been put into an escrow account, he told me small business don't use escrow accounts. I, stupidly, gave him another chance, since he already had my money and I wanted the job done. He said he would have my kitchen done by Christmas. Christmas has come and gone and still nothing. I have hired an attorney to get my money back. In case anyone else reads this, he is working at Lowes in Peoria.

  And the 1 star rating, he doesn' t even deserve that.

  Mr. Heubi took our money for a project - quite a large sum of money, and never did the work. Now we are in a mess trying to get our money back. We paid him in September of 2011. When we gave him the deposit, he indicated that he would have the whole project done by February. In November, he told us that he had injured his ankle and wasn't going to be able to work for about a week. Then used the excuse that it was cold. We tried to call him numerous times throughout the mild winter for the status of the project. Finally in the Spring he answered his phone and at first he acted like he didn't know who we were. Then he made all kinds of excuses as to why he hadn't done the work but couldn't give us a date that he would be there to do it. Months later and still waiting. We sent him a letter to get a full refund of our deposit back as he had not done any work on those projects and have received no response at all. We are in a mess financially as he ran off with the funds that we got a loan on for the project.

  He started the job and said it would take 1 week. He was suppose to come at 8:15 and start on it. He usually only came in the afternoon and the first 2 days he worked maybe 10 hours. After that he would say the compound was still wet(which it was not) and he would leave. We have our basement torn up because of this project and he would work for may 20 minutes and leave. The job should have been completed on June 13 and today he walked away and I have paid him for half the job and I bet he will never give me a refund. I asked him for a lien waiver for all materials bought and a refund for the work that was not completed. He walked off the job today and left us with a mess.
