This builder does even rate a 1 star review. He would not finish a under contract home knowing that he could get more money for it because lumber prices went up; even tho the house was 90% completed. Drug it along for months and months til buyer finally opted out. Treated one of our retired, disabled Veterans this way - he is shameful.

John Hitt is not a man of honor. He does not back his work and purposely ignores all requests for repairs as contractually required. Once he has your money, he will no longer respond to your calls, texts or letters. My next step is to hire a lawyer.

John Hitt enters a contract with no intension of keeping a contract date. He conveniently has covid to blame on his bad time management and non existent communication. His realtor, Melissa says everything is covids fault and it is not her job to answer questions. John Hitt has a, I build the home you just live in it attitude, if you should ask questions you either don't get an answer or it is out of pocket cost tacked on paid asap. This realtor and builder do not have covid problems they have relationship, communication, planning and lack of follow thru problems. The construction is quality work but not knowing when you will close is un acceptable. After many months of waiting it was time to walk away because if he treats someone he is in a contract with the way he did myself, how would he treat someone he has already gotten money from?? and from seeing another review he doesn't follow thru with home warranties. If you have all the time in the world to wait for this man to build a house and don't care about a warrantee then by all means, check his work out but know that it may be a much longer process than what he signs to.
