He did the same thing to as described by the reviewer above. He cut corners on work - it was not quality. After 5 months - molding is coming away from the wall. He never caulked around the new front door or the new front window.
He was supposed to install railings by the back door and never came back to install.
He destroyed parts of our vinyl fencing and never replaced it.
He installed a fireplace in the new addition and it is coming away from the wall and causing structural damage. It will have to be destroyed and re-done (by another "reliable" contractor).
He also destroyed heat to our second floor and put in cheap dryer vent materials to make us think that it should push heat to the second floor. After call in other professionals - they could not believe that he did it that way.
He also moved the dryer vent to vent into the addition crawl space. This is not code.
He then left the job and never came back... after he demanded that we pay him $25,000 in overage charges. Being the honest and trusting person that I "was" - I paid him. I was fooled and taken advantage of by this contractor.
We will be contacting an attorney. But we have been told that even if the courts rule in our favor (which they probably would) .... he will never have to pay damages and the courts do not go after contractors for restitution.
