Mr.Odom had built some semblance of trust over a year of knowing him . He did a few minor repairs. I thought he was honest. He came to my home July 30, 2017. He was at my residence for 20 minutes doing a diagnostic. HE called me to the outside handler and began to explain that my compressor heads were burnt out and the compressor was "bad" and repair was $2,000. I explained I did not have extra $ nor wanted to buy a new system but he told me he would give it to me for $ 4,000 and that it was a bad compressor and that it would break on the worst day and with his calculator began to "sell" me on buying a new system. I agreed. In the following 24hours I began to feel uneasy about the service call. I called in 2 other credited AC companies to run a full documented diagnostic check. To my intuition there was absolutely nothing wrong with the compressor at all. In fact after detailed evaluation the compressor heads were far from "burned" and my system only needed the drain cleaned for $75.00. I confronted Mr. Odom on this and he broke down in tears claiming quote"I made a mistake and I am sorry. I will do anything. I will give you a system half the price off." This was not the tone of a man who made a mistake. I relented and told Mr. Odom that I would take a coupon for half the price with my service call fee of $110 back. I felt this would teach Mr. Odom a lesson about either lying to a customer about broken equipment to make a sale of a new system or he was that negligent in his duties that he could make such a grave oversight that perhaps he would get better schooling or education. Mr. Odom then told me a day later that this was my fault for being angry at him and he did nothing wrong. He told me he was contacting legal counsel If I went ahead and told the truth in reviews of contacting the BBB. I felt a duty and obligation to my fellow citizens to report this man and expose what I felt was a deliberate tactic to sell me on a new system. My compressor was documented and clearly far from broken that a quote both AC repair companies " a AC repair layman would recognize the compressor was operating perfectly. I feel the community should know about companies like this that take advantage of the public in the air condition community.
