John Palma
President
Mr. Palma would not give us a proper estimate or agreement when we were building a new home. We agreed to allow him to work on an hourly basis, which we thought we could control and trust him. His worker would show up, sit in our front yard, talk on his cell phone, then inform us that he was going to lunch and he would be back, and would never return, but would chocked up labor hours against us. The mortgage estimated that the total labor for plumbing and heating would be $9900.00 which was a very nice tidy sum for the work that needed to be performed. Labor only, this did not include materials. Upon completion of the house in the last week, the plumbing and heating was no where near completed. Mr Palma and his men rushed in there the last week and completed the work less than satisfactorily. The day they completed their work, we were getting ready to pay him the second and final sum to pay the total to $9900.00 and he advised us that he still had to charge us an additional $5,000 over and above our payments. My husband asked him to please submit proper invoices so we could see why he felt he was owed additional funds. Mr Palma never submitted us proper invoices, but started showing up at our front door demanding we pay him these extra funds. After a year of this harassment he submitted us invoices which we wrote to him and disputed. Because he did not get any additional funds out of us, he brought a civil lawsuit against us in the amount of $18,000. After court costs, attorney fees, etc. Mr. Palma did not benefit financially like he hoped he would against us. He only really made out of the deal what the mortgage company deemed him a reasonable amount in the first place. Live and learn Mr. Palma... I hope you learned your lesson and have not tried to take advantage of other consumers like you did us....
