Remodel a church building and turn it into a 4 bedroom 2.5 bath house

Please do not hire this man to do work for you. I hired him to do a 75,000 remodel house project I gave him 25,000 to start. First step included removing old rotten and molded plywood from the building prior to installing a new metal roof. I was supposed to get step by step photos of what was discovered on the roof, what plywood would need to be replaced prior to putting on the metal roof. On May 7th he removed the ceilings and paneling from the front portion of the building and installed the metal roof while I was out of town without sending me step by step photos. When I returned on Mayy 11 to look at the roof, I was very upset at the poor workmanship that was done. He put a new metal roof on top of old rotted and molded wood. Looking up in the ceiling you can see all the rotted wood that was supposed to be replaced but wasn't. I immediately called Mr. Green to let him know I wasn't happy what I saw. Mr. Green told me he put the roof on to prevent from getting wet (what a stupid thing to tell someone) it didn't even rain on the day the roof was put on. So, Mr. Green removed some areas of the metal roof to replace the rotten wood that should have been replaced before putting on the new roof. My roof is crooked all around and dented in the middle. He was still working on the roof a month later. All around the building facia and soffit boards were rotted. I finally fired him on June 1st after seeing the poor work that was being done. Beware of this company, he's a rip off and do not have a team. He uses his son, grandson and a friend to do the work. He also doesn't have enough bonding to cover anything over $5000.00. I asked for a refund from the 25,000 that was giving to him. He told me he's only giving me 5000.00 back and charged me 10,000 to remove paneling, a partition wall, remove two toilets, 2 sinks, and charged me another 4,000 for putting on a unfinished roof on. He only worked 2/3 days out of the week, came around 8:30 and left sometimes before noon. His son came to the site to work about 1 full week and the rest of the time came and left without doing anything. They would take material away from my project to use on someone else's project. Luckily for me I took photos of everything.
