Gonzalez, Juan Jose
4/23/20 I contacted Johnny Gonzales about run new pipes through my whole home, installing new pipes, valves, fixtures, washer valves, mop sink, 2 toilets, 3 sinks, 2 showers, 1 tub spout, an outside shower, and outside sink. 7/2/20 Johnny and I agreed upon $3,500 CASH (1st RED FLAG) for LABOR ONLY as I supplied all materials. We agreed he would begin work on 7/9/20 and showed up with a helper. My husband had the NEW vanities for our bathrooms pulled out for Johnny to have the measurements for the new piping and Johnny stated he would not need them today and so just in case I sent him the specific measurements for the vanities via text, which is in the pics attached. Upon Johnny opening up the floor in the kitchen for the new island he ran his pipe and then closed the floor with cement which was a BIG NO NO and not up to code! Anytime you cut into the foundation you are to spray termite protection before closing the whole. Johnny didn't give us that opportunity and DID NOT KNOW CODE. (2nd RED FLAG). Moving forward Johnny had to come back on SUNDAY 7/12/20 to finish running the pipes and installing the valves so we could move forward with the tile and drywall repair. He completed the piping on Sunday and requested that we paid him in full ($3,500 paid in cash 3rd RED FLAG), WHICH WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE DONE, but I have known Johnny for almost 30 years, went to grade school with him and have had work done by him when he worked for other plumbing companies, never for himself. BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE! On 7/27/20 I notified Johnny that everything should be ready to go for him to finish his end of the job and we scheduled for 8/7/20. On 8/6/20 I sent Johnny a text that the kitchen would not be ready to install and that it would have to be done at a later time when we had a date for cabinet install, Johnny acknowledged the message and stated he would still see us tomorrow to finish adding all the fixtures to the piping and hook up everything. THIS IS WHEN THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN with Johnny Gonzalez. CONTINUED INTO THE NEXT REVIEW
On 8/7/20 when Johnny arrived to our home to hook up the new bathroom vanity sinks he realized he had piped to the OLD vanities, causing the plumbing to not align. Johnny wanting to cup open my 2 $1650 vanities to accommodate his new pipe work, I STOPPED HIM IMMEDIATELY! He was told to fix the plumbing from the back side of the wall by opening the drywall a 2nd time. I paid MY electricians $150 to cut the drywall open because when Johnny was here for the new piping he destroyed my drywall when cutting holes for him to snake pipes through and cost me double to repair. Johnny then went to the store to grab parts, mind you he didn't show up until 2:30pm on a Friday and when he returned he fixed the plumbing to the vanities, requested we pay him an extra $250, which we did because we wanted him to finish so we had sinks and toilets (we had no sinks for 3 months) so having water hook up was essential at this time. Remember how I sent him the specs and we had the vanities pulled out... UGH! (RED FLAG #4 now). Johnny left Friday at 5pm and said he would be back Saturday, the next day to finish, which he never showed, pushed back till Sunday then text my husband (first time ever) and stated he doesn't work on Sunday's because he spends that day with his kids (HE FINISHED THE REPIPE ON A SUNDAY). Monday 8/10/2020 rolls around and I text Johnny at 9am with a list of things that still needed to be completed. Within the hour Johnny and the GC on my job site got into a heated text conversation apparently because Johnny ALSO charged the GC $150, on top of me paying him $250 on Friday for the same job, when it was JOHNNYS SCREW UP! He made $400 in 2.5 hours for a job he screwed up! (RED FLAG #5) The GC paid him to get him off his back and in doing so labeled the memo as "Dumb Fuck Plumber" and Johnny lost his mind. He wrote in text that he would not be coming to finish the job and he offered us $500 to hire someone else to complete the job, then it went to $1000 and I knew that with the amount of work still needed to be done that this was much more than a $500 fix.I did not accept his offer and Johnny stated to sue him, at which time we went to our attorneys office and started the process of suing him for OUR money back. Not only did it NOT stop here we had to make statements against Johnny Gonzalez for his numerous threats to our well being by his "biker gang". Not only that but I have him recorded on video threatening our safety. Pretty scary to the point we had a surveillance system installed that day.
Johnny does not understand what he has done to our family and how violated we feel after being treated like this. Never in a million years would I do business this way or with anyone who does and the community needs to be made aware of how he conducts himself and his business. I have never in my life felt so victimized by someone. 9/22/20 still not a penny from Johnny
