Ernie Johnston is a handyman not a contractor. He has no crew of employees. He didn't pay a subcontractor he used for my house. Ernie's work on my house ignored building codes and Kansas laws. He stuffed in batting insulation to block my soffits from venting to the attic. He made my basement flood rainwater when it didn't before he trenched around it. Ernie wouldn't work, dragged out this project for 14 months then suddenly walked off the job. Before I could sue him for breach of contract--Ernie took the offensive and sued me for more money than our Contract allowed, and no change orders existed. I had attorney costs, plus I had to pay 5 other companies to come and redo Ernie's shoddy work. I paid Ernie's Invoices on time and more than our full Contract amount after I paid off his subcontractor over $11,600. With me, Ernie used his contractor profession for elder financial abuse.
