When we built our new home in 2017 Jon Schock was sub-contracted to install our Rennai On-Demand Boiler and hot water system. We had issues with this boiler on two different occasions since then. The most recent issue with the boiler (No not water - November 2019) Jon performed $400 worth of services/repairs to restore fix it. (Which we went without hot water for over two weeks) Jon assured us that this service was most likely still under warranty. We simply needed to pay him for the work ($400+) and he would submit the warranty claim to Rinnai for our reimbursement. (Parts and Labor)
We trusted Jon and paid him without hesitation. My wife and I were patient, and gave him time for the paperwork to be processed. I reached out to Jon on January 7th to follow up on the warranty claim, and he told me that he had not heard back from Rinnai, and he would give them a follow up call and let us know. Two weeks passed and I never heard back from Jon, so I followed up with him again at the end of January but he never responded to any of my text messages, phone calls, or voicemails. I tried following up with Jon on several more occasions in February, but still no response.
After this significant period of unresponsiveness I decided to call Rinnai directly to see where we were at with the warranty claim. The Rinnai customer service representative informed me that Jon Schock never submitted a warranty claim for the work/repairs done at our home that he promised.
No, I would not recommend this plumber to anyone.
