This man knew to simply replace the vertical trim on our three large windows. The replaced windows only lengthened. Instead he took our beautiful straight grained alder #1 for himself without asking, and replaced the all the frames with hemlock. They are different in color than the other windows in our home. They are not sanded smooth and remain rough with whatever coating he used. They do not fit well leaving gaps along the edges of the window frames. There are exposed nail holes. There is torn wood at cuts. When I noticed our original trim missing I asked where it was. He simply said “I didn’t know you wanted them! I took them to the dump”. Surely a lie. Those trims were gorgeous. Then when I asked later if by chance he had any piece left, he lied again and said his asst. took a few for firewood and could see if there was any left. I know that any finished wood is never burned but particularly these pieces were beautiful. And, when he did the sub counter for our new kitchen counter, he used warped wood. He cut the space for the stove too small and for the sink too big. Gratefully the counter people from Seattle did their best to fix everything and even ended up missing the ferry back because of all the extra work caused by the sloppy and cheated work by Jonathan Wolfson. It will cost me thousand to replace the trim and he is unwilling to pay for it. My counter remains higher at one edge because tho the counter people told me to leave clamps on one end and a stick holding another end up for 48 hours, he came in when I was not there and removed them not even knowing what they were for. The man is dishonest, arrogant and poorly skilled. Don’t hire him.
