Joseph Murray Construction

We hired them from a recommendation my husband received from a co-worker. We hired them to convert our garage into a family room and redo kitchen. In the very beginning, they came to work and worked hard. We were promised that the job will go fast. We are now close to 90 days and job is still not done. Mr. Murray told us that he wanted to do the floor right in the new room. He removed all the old cement and replaced with new. When they opened up the wall to the kitchen, they realized that the new floor was too low. I overheard them talking and knew that this was an issue. When I mentioned it to Mr. Murray, we had our first argument. He fired one of his workers because he thought he was the one who talked to me. They added this sub flooring to the room to bring up the height. What a mess. It made the floor uneven. They swear that there is nothing wrong, however, several of the subcontractors that came in to do work for them told me that it was done incorrectly. One of their subcontractors just finished laying our pergo floor today. I can't even relish in the beauty of the floor because the subfloor is all off, not level. In the end we are probably going to have to replace it with a rug because of the poor job Murray did. The room itself is ok. The men do not take pride in their work. The paint job is off. The seems in the walls are showing. They chipped new tile. The men are careless when handing new items. They dropped a new cabinet and broke it. I had to have it replaced. In the beginning, Murray and his partner showed up several times a day to supervise. After the 1st month, they stopped coming. Mr. Murray does not like to hear that things are not going smoothly. He does not listen to the clients at all. I had several heated conversations with him. Cops were almost called on the last one. He is not allowed at my house. I am just waiting for this crew to finish. Again, I do not recommend them. I am so sad that we spent so much money and the job was not careless.
