  Put some lights outside to light up the palm trees.

  My fiancé Mark found Josue Montano's ad for electrical services on craigslist, which I have told my fiancé is not a reliable source in general to find any services. There is no accountability, such as there is on Nextdoor.com for example. Josue showed up, acted friendly and request a 50% deposit via Zelle up front on the $1000 job, which was to light up palm trees in our backyard. He was supposed to use the$500 deposit to buy the lights and then return to do the job the following day.
  For three days, he did not show up, saying the lights were ordered but were on back order.
  He still never showed up claiming his mother had a stroke so he couldn't take the time to do anything else. As two weeks went by, I called him to see what was going on. I told him it's time to simply return Mark's deposit. He told me he "knows the law" which he claims he only had to return the deposit money within 30 days of the receipt of the deposit. I don't know what law he's talking about because there's no such law I could find on-line. In fact, the law says to only ask for 10% deposit up front!
  At any rate, he told my me and my fiancé that he would return the $500 deposit within the 30 days via Zelle.
  The 30 days has now past, and he did NOT return the $500 to my fiancé nor did he ever show up again to even start the job.
  This is a clear indication that Josue Montano is dishonest.
  I wonder how many other people he has stolen money from in this devious way??

  Mini duct AC installation

  $1,600

  I wanted to stall a mini split AC unit in my garage and didn't like the price the bigger local companies were charging so i bought the equipment myself and hired Josh to do the install. He needed 50% of the invoice amount upfront so I wrote him a check for $975 on July 28th for parts. So far he's worked one day, July 31st and I was so happy that he'd put in a full day that I paid him an additional $600 but its now Tues 8/8 and I haven't seen him since! He had his AC guy show up on 8/3 but was gone when I when to check on him 30 minutes and didn't do any of the work he was supposed to do. Other than him answering call on Thursday from a phone # that wasn't mine Josh has completely gone dark on me but on that call we actually scheduled me for today at 10:00am to complete the job AND repair the hole in my bedroom ceiling from where his foot went through in Monday. The reviews on this website talked about him getting money up front and not completing the jobs but when I asked about those he addressed it enough so that I felt comfortable enough to hire even though my wife had serious misgivings about it. As of today I've paid Josh $1575 and have holes in my garage wall and my bedroom ceiling and my garage is unusable as it has AC equipment in it. Josh always tells you what you want to hear to give you hope of completing the job but it looks like his behavior hasn't changed. He takes the money you give to him in good faith and leaves you high and dry with a unfinished job. ***STAY AWAY FROM JOSH MONTANO AND E.S.C. He will RIP YOU OFF***

  I’ve Worked with Josue on multiple electrical jobs. I was working with josue for the above “client” Arashp, I believe to be affiliated with Hyat Raiz. The job consisted of adding some outlets and switches, can lights for the entire remodel, re wiring as well as panel upgrade in Ontario, CA. The job was 90% completed with the panel breakers being the last thing. Hyat had looked over the work and was pleased, however he wrote Josue a check for what he thought “was fair” instead of the agreed price for labor and material. Josue gave him the chance to make it right and also told him that he wasn’t going to complete the panel if he wasn’t willing to pay a fair price for his labor as well as his helper, also warned that his other workers would be left with out electricity. Hyat wanted to be cheap and go against the initial estimated price that he agreed on! Josue didn’t just disappear after material was paid for!

  After paying him for material, took the material and disappeared. Left the job incomplete where other workers can't work now because of no electricity. Not answering phone or text.

  RECESS LIGHTS IN 5 ROOMS OF VACATION CABIN IN BIG BEAR LAKES.

  Josue and his brother Francisco Montano were referred by his cousin from Machinas Heating and Air Conditioning on Oct 22 this year, who repaired our heating system.

  Josue agreed to take on the job of installing recess lights in all 5 rooms or our cabin in big bear for a sum of 4500. He did 80 percent of work, as agreed and was prompt and professional. Overall his work was clean and precise.

  On Nov 2nd, he had completed 4 of the rooms when he called me saying they had encountered a few "snags" and had to come back to finish the job at the end of the week. He also left whole in the wall in one of the bedroom which he promised to fix.

  He insisted that i pay home all the money for the contract. When i resisted saying there a room left to be finished, he said that he would leave the parts there in the house as collateral. I reluctantly gave him 4000$ of the 4500 contract sum. Unfortunately, he never showed up to finish the 5th room, a days worth of work, and the job remains undone as of this day.

  He made 3 appointments and for all of them he never showed up. ON the day of the first 2 appointment he typically did not take the call or respond to texts. Then he would call state a reason for not showing up and make another appointment. The lates was this weekend, and he texted with a note that he had locked his tools in a work site. We had blocked off our rental cabin off the market for one weekend during the winter ski season and 2. Tuesday and Wednesdays in a row for him to complete the job.

  Now we have been forced to hire a new contractor to finish the work at additional costs and hassle to us.

  Overall, I WOULD BE WARY OF HIRING HIM, despite the fact that he appears to know his trade and does good work when he is at the job site. We are very happy with the job he did in the other four rooms of our house.
