JR GENERAL CONTRACTORS LLC
We are a family business! Locate in Washington, DC . We started our dream business in 2014 after 15 years working with two construction companies. JR GENERAL CONTRACTORS LLC love to make our customers happy with our work. from the beginning of this business the goal was to do the best work, provide quality service, respect our customers and realize their dreams..!!
There's a Difference Between a Handyman and a Contracting Company
As a homeowner, sometimes you may just be looking for someone with a toolbox to do a job cheaply. That's perfectly fine; we've done it ourselves. But for specialty home improvement and renovation projects; such as roofing, siding, window replacement, fencing, tree removal, quality painting bathroom, kitchen, Basement, whole house and more, these require more skill and business savvy.
Successful, growing, and thriving contractors retain their employees, and those continue to build on their expertise. By maintaining several production crews and growing a business, a contractor can leverage affiliations with major manufacturers, have solutions for all situations and take advantage of other economics.
Homeowners get the benefit of great customer service, warranties that will be fulfilled if necessary years down the road and quality workmanship when hiring an established and growing contractor. Building a thriving business makes sense for all of us.

By Kevon L.February 23, 2020partial gut and renovation of 3200 square foot home in Washington, DCResponse from JR GENERAL CONTRACTORS LLC May 17, 20201- Natalie A. Bonano owe to JR GENERAL CONTRACTORS LLC the 5th, 6th payments, and 4 change orders, More than $30,000. JR GENERAL CONTRACTORS LLC is obligated to stop working if there is not payment from the homeowners, you can read the contract, well I think you comment is not base on the contract because you haven’t read it. 2- Your project been for six month under construction because you and your wife did a lot of changes and we are not fast and furious to complete the changes in one day. You been looking for cheap materials for a long time and we don’t manufacture those cheap materials. We also don’t own DCRA they take their time to review changes on approved drawing. 3- We don’t have problem with money, we pay our employees on time. Our insurances are paid in full, our bills are pay too.

By a user in WashingtonAugust 12, 2017Considered for General Contracting
The job was done in a timely manner but it was done sloppily. I thought over time the left over cement on the sidewalk would wash away instead it now perpetually looks like the sidewalk is not done. It may have been a matter of him just cleaning his mess afterwards. Also the color doesn't match. I would like for him to come back out and fix it.

DO NOT hire JR General Contractors LLC to renovate your home. They are deeply incompetent, have serious money problems, sloppy workers, and your project will take forever and might not ever be completed. We hired JR General Contractors LLC to partially gut and renovate our 3200 square foot home in Washington, DC. They were incapable of obtaining permits on their own. In fact, my wife and I had to take time off of work to spend countless hours at DCRA understanding what was required for various permits, obtaining the information required, and then meeting with members of DCRA to answer questions in order to obtain the permits. We received a stop work order because JR General Contractors LLC took down the entire back exterior wall of our house. My wife and I again spent countless hours at DCRA to resolve the stop work order, and we were ultimately fined $4700 due to JR General Contractors LLC’s extreme lack of basic skills. JR General Contractors LLC lied by stating that the back exterior wall created a safety issue and had to be taken down, but they simply lacked the skills to make repairs to the existing exterior wall to support a new balcony. When they demolished our back exterior wall, they put most of the debris in the drain in our backyard. During a heavy rainfall, our newly renovated basement flooded with liquefied feces. It cost us $6,300.00 to remedy the damages. They made various crucial mistakes that cost us several thousand dollars to correct. For example, they cannot measure to save their lives. They improperly measured the space for the kitchen cabinets, wet bar cabinets, and basement bathroom vanity. None of the plumbing was properly connected, so it cost us $7,200.00 to correct the plumbing. They failed 21 construction inspections, which demonstrates their gross incompetence. Around 45% of the renovation remained incomplete, and they demanded the second to the last payment covering 90% of the project. When we asked them to complete the repair items that past payments covered, they walked off the job. It cost us $67,770 to hire other contractors to complete the job. They trashed our house with construction equipment, trash, and debris. It took our new contractor five full days to clean out our house. Their work was sloppy, not up to code, and they took unacceptable shortcuts to complete each repair item. The electrical subcontractor asked us for payment because JR General Contractors LLC never paid them. Our contract listed a completion date of September 10, 2018. In September 2019, JR General Contractors LLC walked off the job, which was one year after the project was supposed to be complete. Their project manager has a criminal history, which is publicly available through a Google search. We fired the project manager about mid-way through the project because he is dishonest, could not answer any of our questions, and has no real construction experience. We also would not recommend their architect. He copied our neighbor’s blueprints, and refused to draft a narrative response to accompany the blueprints as required by DCRA. My wife actually drafted the narrative response for the architect. Save yourself time, money, and sanity: STAY AWAY from this team of criminals.
