*He has missed every deadline he set which slipped the schedule
*He hired a person to be a point of contact with us who couldn’t make any decisions, so questions took a long time to answer which slipped the schedule
*He decided for us what exchanges would be made instead of asking us what we wanted to exchange which slipped the schedule
*I had to correct his work list several times for missing things, or things that should be eliminated or better defined which slipped the schedule
*He put us off until spring, including buying materials, so now some materials have tripled
*He gave the impression he was in contact with the town (P&Z, etc)
*After asking for a down payment of 1/3 of the total cost for materials and town permits, he never purchased the materials and actually never contacted anyone in the town P&Z office, all the while saying the town doesn’t really care about the footprint changes
*He provided drawings that he said were “draft”, but that did not represent the job we agreed on...they were uselessAfter 6 months and no work, we asked for our down payment back. He proceeded to charge us $5500 for bad drawings and $3000+ for his personal time. He was basically charging ~$9000 for no work.
He is dragging out paying us back, but he bragged that he had just finished a 200k job in March. I know my options and responsibilities. Alerting others to bad business practices is one of them.
To be clear, I do not recommend this contractor or his company for any work at all.

John Vincenti and his crew have done numerous projects for us including the installation of steel beams that enabled the transformation of a basement into functional office space. I recommend John and his crew without reservation as among the most knowledgeable and reliable general contractors in Connecticut.

John and his team renovated my home in Westville, a circa 1900 Carftsman style home with great historic detailing that needed a ton of work. We created a whole new kitchen and master bathroom and renovated the rest of the entire house, repaired and painted the exterior, completely redid the electrical and plumbing. JRGOAT managed the subcontractors and managed their way through the inevitable problems that arose. Thoughtful and no BS.

John handled all of the repairs caused by a pipe freeze at our home. He provided a detailed quote that made it easy to remove items from our plan to keep in budget. John has relationships with many sub-contractors, which is the key to keeping a job moving. He was responsive to calls and texts, the work was high quality, the work was finished on time and on budget, and he quickly turned around paperwork needed to keep the insurance company claim moving. I highly recommend John and his team!

Very polite and educated. John and his team did a great job renovating our house. They were very patient with any changes I threw at them, and I would highly recommend JRGoat Designs for any renovation work!
