We really wanted this to end well, the owner seemed like a nice guy. In the end we didn't get what was promised. After contacting several contractors we called a local lumber yard and was referred 2 contractors. JFR was the second choice. The consult and price worked for us providing we dug the 8 holes for the post. We agreed. We were assure by JFR they were licensed, experienced and would pull permits). JFR did not handle the permit as promised. We ended up doing the paper work our selves. What a nightmare- brutal process! This could have been avoid with another contractor. The 16/16 deck was completed in 1.5 days. However the ending was bitter. The deck failed inspection in several areas. JFR said the inspector didn't know what he was talking about and was being unreasonable. Said he wasn't going to fix it. A few day later JFR showed up and fixed a few things. Then sent us a bill for $520. It failed inspection again. This time JFR explained fixing everything to code would cost him too much money and asked if we would be willing to pay more. This is where we parted ways. JFR's preferred method of communication was via text! I still have the text dialogue.
