  recarpet house and replace kitchen and bathroom floors

  Do NOT use J's Flooring if you want the job done correctly. I hired them to recarpet my whole house and install a new kitchen and bathroom floor. We started to think we had made a mistake when on the 1st day, Jeff showed up and said they didn't have enough carpet to do the whole house. The 1st crew he sent was a husband and wife team that did nothing but bicker and argue. When he went to roll the roller over the kitchen floor, he put a large scratch in the wood kitchen island. when I pointed it out he stated it 'was no big deal'. The wife nailed down the strips between the carpet and the kitchen floor that were not mitered correctly and she left the nails sticking up over 1/4 of an inch. The bathroom was a complete disaster. They were supposed to replace the white wood baseboard but decided to try and just replace what they had taken off. When she went to nail it, there were hammer marks all over it; it was over 1/2 inch off the floor and again, the corners didn't match. The worst part was she ran her hammer thru our newly wallpapered bathroom wall, leaving a hole the size of a half dollar. Because of the placement of the wall and the new wallpaper, I will have to repair the wall and have it re-wallpapered. Jeff sent a different crew to lay the carpet. When they went to lay the carpet, I stated it didn't look like the carpet I had ordered. I was told it would look different once it was laid and vacuumed. Nobody would go to the store, which is 2 blocks from our house, and get the sample board to check. come to find out it was the wrong carpet and by this time I was in tears. Jeff ordered the new carpet and stated I would 'just have to wait my turn' to get it installed as there were other customers ahead of me. You would think I would be a priority after all the mistakes. I had to wait another month for the new carpet. Jeff did offer to upgrade the carpet but I still don't feel it made up for everything they did. The worst part is after about 3 weeks we noticed the carpet was coming up between the hall way and one of the bedrooms. I decided to just have all the carpet ripped out and have a different company re-carpet the whole house. A jog that was only supposed to cost $7,000 ended up costing me almost $12,000 because Jeff follows the business practice of "How not to make friend and get repeat customers"
