initially hired this contractor to replace some fencing, which went well. Then had him to do some general landscape cleanup and light pruning. That project was a DISASTER. We talked several times prior to starting the cleanup. What was to be done and how, which plants and trees were to be pruned and which were to be left alone.
I was not available when the project started, so Jose talked with my wife and basically ignored everything that we had agreed upon, making lame excuses as to why. A true professional would have foreseen all the issues he complained about.
The most aggravating aspect is that one oak tree which both of us told him not to touch was uniformly chopped straight across the bottom with power hedge clippers. There was absolutely no knowledge of proper pruning technique as well as total disregard for the original agreement.
I would caution anybody who considers hiring this contractor to make sure the project scope is well defined and then watch him very closely, he will take every opportunity to shortcut or change what was agreed upon and give you some weak excuse why.
