Unethical business practices! After agreeing to a price for our home renovation project, we were charged an additional large sum of money during the project. We asked multiple times for an itemized breakdown to justify the extra cost but did not receive one. Promises to hit deadlines were not met resulting in paying additional monies to extend where we lived and pay a mortgage on a home we could not move into. During the project when things went wrong or were not completed as requested, after expressing our disappointment we were met with sarcastic remarks: “maybe in the next life”, “too late now”, “welcome to contracting” and the most obnoxious comment when the toilet backed-up into a room after installing new floors, “welcome to being a homeowner!”. In the end we had to pay an electrician to fix lighting that was flickering and hire an exterior professional to redo the siding around the backdoor since the new door they installed left gaps.
