I had a similar experience as D.P. above - I contracted John to do several jobs around the house. Gave 50% down and all work is started with none completed. I have trash, tools, materials, wrong paint 1/2 painted on walls and all work incomplete. I filed a case against him with the PA attorney general. Appears completely fraudulent.

I gave my basement finishing contract to J. W. Construction (John Ware). He took 50% as a part of down payment toward the contract. Hardly completed 20% of work and then vanished. It has been more than a month now he is not in contact. No answer to calls, emails and text. Big liar and unprofessional! He seems very nice and polite but he is not what he says or sound like. Please stay away from this scammer! I am going to court and going through frustration. Please save your time and money by avoiding John Ware from Morton, PA.

Same thing for me. I hired J. Ware to repaint our deck. He asked for 50% as a down payment but never finish the work. I approved the estimate on March 23, 2021, and he power washed our deck on April 9. After this date, it was extremely hard to have him coming to finish the work. He made a lot of promises but did not follow up. We had to stay at home waiting for him multiple times for nothing. Then, after multiple text messages and emails, he came on June 18 and we tested the color. The color was not great so we decided to change and bought another one. He never came back to finish the job and, despite multiple promises, never refunded a part of our deposit.
